18:42 - Netzach I don't get either the hype nor the hate for Deafheaven. Quite average music imo.
18:36 - Zaphod I get what you mean, but I don't think Deafheaven are the worst offenders. Of course they're more often talked about because of the hype around them (which I still have trouble understanding)
18:31 - Apothecary I dunno, I'm far from being a trve kvlt elitist black metal asshole, but I do think there's a general attitude of "challenge conventions, promote alternatives" that comes with BM that Deafheaven are missing
18:28 - Zaphod I don't mind them. They always sounded just kind of normal to me. Nothing challenging as you say, sure, but not bad either.
18:24 - Apothecary Deafheaven are pretty much the antithesis of black metal ethos. Not challenging, and they miss the "fuck you, I am doing my own thing" attitude of the subgenre entirely
18:04 - Zaphod What an annoying band to look at. Especially the vocalist.
