01. For You To Know

The pen scratches vellum paper and the words flow
Ink stained fingers dreaming up this letter to you
Your love lingers in the shades of a grey morning
Sentence escapes in the mist

The pictures of home swallowed by a narrow margin
Delusions creeping upon me, I'm shaded

The subtlety of time makes everything clearer
Clawing to my chains, squirming with my agony
Scared of never seeing you again
But I never knew you anyway
It could have been so different
It just never happened that way

Have I told you about the magpie, my only friend
Have you heard about the tears and the nights in the rain
And I want you to know, I want you by my side
I could have helped you find a way back into this world

If I ever face this world, we'll be together
This is for you to know. This is for you to feel.

The subtlety of time makes everything clearer
Clawing to my chains, squirming with my agony
Scared of never seeing you again
But I never knew you anyway
It could have been so different
It just never happened that way

The sun is setting, leaving me no sanctuary
And I can't stand another night like this
Tomorrow I will follow my friend among the trees
My final letter, I will write it down for you

Keep it with your poems because they were all true
Just so you know, you didn't get here in time

Have I told you about the magpie, my only friend
Have you heard about the tears and the nights in the rain
And I want you to know, I want you by my side
I could have helped you find a way back into this world

If I ever face this world, we'll be together
This is for you to know. This is for you to feel.

02. Debris

Darkness sets outside, a shadow dances frightened on the bedroom wall
It's quiet outside, soon the time is right
Carefully out of bed, slips into a skintight silky dress
Red lips kiss in the mirror, harbouring the sadness in her eyes
One sip from the bottle hidden behind the books in the shelf

Pushing down the handle, the door slides open wide
Cautiously moving down the hallway, don't make any sound
Finally out in the night, the air is warm and clear
A slight breath sweeps through the treetops in a moonlight serenade

No look back, no chance to turn away this time
She lights a cigarette and walks away from home

Rushing through the emptiness of a sleeping town
A few dreamless strolling in the dancing streetlights
Butterflies swarming the inside with shivers divine
Almost there, she stops to catch her breath
She straightens the dress one hand through the hair
Her eyes detecting their under bridge rendezvous

Minutes pass by, she's alone
He is nowhere in sight, loneliness lingering back
Hours goes by and love once more lost
In this corner of the world cold and empty

On one of the loneliest nights he came from out of a dream
Embraced and in a moment all pain went away
A dreamtime tied to a faded reality and for a while it all just seemed to flow

Rushing through the emptiness of a sleeping town
A few dreamless strolling in the dancing streetlights
Butterflies swarming the inside with shivers divine
Almost there, she stops to catch her breath
She straightens the dress one hand through the hair
Her eyes detecting their under bridge rendezvous

03. The Poet And The Painter Of Souls

The creatures in his empty eyes are watching the moon
Cuts on faded fingers that are following every thought
Creating wallpaper flowers with bloodstained hands
Writing down the feelings, asking all about the questions
Pleading answers, screaming, scared for what they will tell
Turn the lights out and hide away, all the eyes are on you
Dreaming your nightmares as they are begging you to fall
Staring with the eyes closed
And the view from there is frightening

No don't try to figure it out
This is not a suit that fits your fake
Lay a razor in the hands of a broken heart
Don't tell the tales that tells it all

The walls are closing in, creeping closer and closer
Shadows are raping another one in the hall
Teardrops are falling from the eye of a fractured mind
Alone beside the candles, that burned down so long ago

Everything is words in a poets mind
And the teller of his tales, are deaf and blind
Scratching the stains of this tragedy
Carving another poem from his insanity

No don't try to figure it out
This is not a suit that fits your fake
Lay a razor in the hands of a broken heart
Don't tell the tales that tells it all

The walls are closing in, creeping closer and closer
Shadows are raping another one in the hall
Teardrops are falling from the eye of a fractured mind
Alone beside the candles, that burned down so long ago

04. The Smoke

In the alley at night time, when the mist covers the ground
The restless on their promenades are staring at your misery
The smile of the beggar, as you try to hide from his greasy eyes
The nights are long when you are scared and alone

So you take one more deep breath to numb the pain
Why should you care when you are lost out in the rain

The girl in the mirror is bleeding, you have to live with her scars
The smoke is in your eyes, it hides the obvious for a while

So you take one more deep breath to numb the pain
Why should you care when you are lost out in the rain
So you do it once again to ease your sorrow
Why should you bother, the pain will not be gone tomorrow

When you are lost in your own escape
You wish upon another star and the tears starts falling
So you do it once again to ease your sorrow
Why do you bother, the pain will not be gone tomorrow

So comes another dawn with no hope in sight
It is much clearer now in the light
You stumble and fall back to the ground
One last breath in before you go back home
This is not a new day
This day it will be the same way

So you take one more deep breath to numb the pain
Why should you care when you are lost out in the rain
So you do it once again to ease your sorrow
Why should you bother, the pain will not be gone tomorrow

So comes another dawn with no hope in sight
It is much clearer now in the light
You stumble and fall back to the ground
One last breath in before you go back home
This is not a new day
This day it will be the same way

05. A Shade Of Plague

Red eyes from tears and all the sleepless nights
Touched skin can never be washed clean again
You are burned by the fire of his flame
Trapped in the filth and all the fucking shame

Pushed down by disgust and desire
Numbing the wounds with other wounds
Here I am, you cannot see me
But look me in the eyes when you cry
I don't mind if you hide yourself, I will find
Don't you make me angry this time
You will never disappoint me again
Bite the pillow and make no sound

So Julia, darkness falls again
You leave the light on by the window
Praying to the moon and the stars
That tonight you'll be left alone

Forced into darkness by the fear of failing
Held down into loneliness
So beautiful but filled up with the tears and pain
In constant hiding from his hungry eyes
What is the price of lust, love and lies
No one will find you hiding in your shadow land

Wipe away all the tears from your eyes, can't you see
Pull the sheets above your heads, try to fall asleep
But scared to wake up by the sound of not being
But scared to wake up by the sound
Of not being on your own, all alone

Forced into darkness by the fear of failing
Held down into loneliness
So beautiful but filled up with the tears and pain
In constant hiding from his hungry eyes
What is the price of lust, love and lies
No one will find you hiding in your shadow land

06. With You Came Silence

Two lovers, we met with the poetry in France
We painted our life on broken glass
Lost in the moment it felt right this time

Beyond the embers of life glowing all around us
It was always there waiting to take me away
Dark and unwelcoming

Out of the blindness my hands freaked again, it's getting harder
Tongue tied and strung out we learned how to pray
Into shapes, safe in my permanent gaze
I can't really speak to you anymore
Her presence melts away the past

Drifting apart like leaves on a stormy sea
Why didn't I get the chance to try
There came the end of all beauty in life
She was meant to be our shelter from the madness
I thought she would make a difference
But Julia, she made it even worse
I thought she would make a difference
She made it even worse

I never saw the end until it came like the coldest wind
It cracked the sky open and I was left out in isolation

Out of the blindness my hands freaked again, it's getting harder
Tongue tied and strung out we learned how to pray
Into shapes, safe in my permanent gaze
I can't really speak to you anymore
Her presence melts away the past

Drifting apart like leaves on a stormy sea
Why didn't I get the chance to try
I was the dark star on our glimmering sky
The failing father I'd never become

07. Pale Eye Revelation

Outside the walls years ago, long before the loss
It rained that day when I first laid my eyes upon hatred
Just by the look in his eyes I saw the prophecy
I knew that he knew that we all could see
But I was the lunatic in the eyes of the world
No one listened to the weak mans poetry
Through the window I gaze and I meet the eyes of my queen
A glimpse of beauty to feed my broken heart

I faded to the ground like so many times before
The way that he looked at her told me everything
But I'm just a weird old man, what could I have done
So I retreated into my own insanity

Cold shivers from the sight of his eyes
This was the night when it all went down the line
Cold sweat from the cruel thoughts of you and him
I lost my breath and it all went down the line
Darkness swept in and held me to the fucking ground
I am so sorry that I was weak and let you down on this day of betrayal

Daddy's little girl in the hands of a beast of man
I had a feeling that something was wrong so long before
I never meant to do you wrong
I never meant for hope to be gone

I faded to the ground like so many times before
The way that he looked at her told me everything
But I'm just a weird old man, what could I have done
So I retreated into my own insanity

Cold shivers from the sight of his eyes
This was the night when it all went down the line
Cold sweat from the cruel thoughts of you and him
I lost my breath and it all went down the line
Darkness swept in and held me to the fucking ground
I am so sorry that I was weak and let you down on this day of betrayal

08. The Final Solution (Entering The Black Lodge)

In the outskirts of a real world, there was once a dream
Camouflaged by daylight, creating it's own mirage
Misdirected lover killed the mannequin
Did a shadow land hide the secrets for us all
On the other side of society, the promised morning never came
In the outskirts of the real world, dream got lost

It was the end of another life but just another day in this world
One more light faded away into the night
One more step back for the forgotten once
The cry of thousand rivers will not bring life back
Poor Julia she was not strong enough to stay
Crawling into the shadows to get some ease

Blind eyes surrounded
No one saw a single thing
Where were you, poet
Where were the ones who should have loved
Deaf ears surrounded
Nobody heard a single sound
Where were you, mother
Where were you all that knew the truth

Betrayal was all around her
No one seemed to be aware
Where were you, lover
Where were the ones who should have deeply cared

Pain and fear surrounded
So alone and always scared
Where were you, father
Where were you all that could have made it end

The October sky cried for her
No more keeper of the inside
In the water she felt no pain
Was the trail to the black lodge irrelevant

Blind eyes surrounded
No one saw a single thing
Where were you, poet
Where were the ones who should have loved
Deaf ears surrounded
Nobody heard a single sound
Where were you, mother
Where were you all that knew the truth

No more keeper of the inside
In the water she felt no pain
Was the trail to the lodge irrelevant
Sinking deeper, deeper down closer to the end
This was the final solution

No one wanted to know how far she had gone
The magpie came and brought the silence
Entering the black lodge, she lost the fight
The pain that once were hidden will now spread into light

Blind eyes surrounded
No one saw a single thing
Where were you, poet
Where were the ones who should have loved
Deaf ears surrounded
Nobody heard a single sound
Where were you, mother
Where were you all that knew the truth
