Alex, Alan, Dave and Phil were also in a band called Heretic together, which wrote and recorded a single demo before they decided to change their style and use a different name to record their music. Because of the vast difference in the styles the musicians all consider Heretic and Ancient Ascendant to be 2 separate bands entirely.
