Now I know I'll most certainly be going this year too (and the whole week end, not just two days like last year) Happiness is creeping in.

Wow, it seems like your employer is finally a NORMAL employer.
For Dutch Doom Days there is no camping though. You'd have to make due by sleeping next to part of my music collection.

God Damnit, I can't wait till I can save money, it sucks not living in euroupe sometimes.

Well I just turned 30 this year am going for the first time, so hopefully it doesn't take you as long as it has taken me to save money !

If it's also your first time in France, don't be disappointed if it's a bit 'disorganised'. We're like that... for good or worse !
Aghahowa - 02.03.2008 at 20:31
Hour of penance
Impaled

at Hellfest on june 22th.
It's now officially announced by the bands (myspace).
Anton Alcolust - 04.03.2008 at 13:40
woow there's a lot of good band this years . and the god's of rock'n roll are here too , maybe i'll come here ...
Jeff - 04.03.2008 at 14:20
Metal Storm is officially now one of the few official partners of the festival!

Yes, you're not dreaming!

A lot of good news will come later!
Aghahowa - 10.03.2008 at 19:51
Carcass will play at hellfest on friday, and the week end after Hellfest.
Arch Enemy will playt Fields of rock the same week end as Hellfest.

Follow my thoughts...

Arch Enemy at Hellfest on Friday ?

Arch Enemy at Hellfest on Friday ?

I certainly hope not, for the bands have been adding lately have devaluated it slightly for me, though the addition of such bands does make it possible for me to get pissed out of my mind earlier than expected ;-)

But if they decide to add Arch Enemy it is becoming clear that they are going for a safe line-up that will appeal to at least twice the amount of people that attended last year.
Aghahowa - 11.03.2008 at 14:09
This is the goal for all festivals.
If they want to have in 2009 big big bands, this is necessary to earn much money this year.

My thoughts, in general, are adressed to the Fields of rock line up :
They've got lots of bands which play at Hellfest.

AIRBOURNE **
APOCALYPTICA **
ARCH ENEMY
BRING ME THE HORIZON
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE
CAVALERA CONSPIRACY **
CHRIS CORNELL
DANKO JONES
DIMMU BORGIR **
DISTURBED
FINNTROLL
ICED EARTH **
JUDAS PRIEST
MADBALL **
MESHUGGAH **
MINISTRY **
MOTÖRHEAD **
ONE BULLET LEFT
OPETH **
RISE AGAINST
SEX PISTOLS
SICK OF IT ALL **
SONATA ARCTICA **
Jeff - 11.03.2008 at 14:26

Anyone going with Argon? Or from Manchester?

I should be, but I will be going from just outside Nottingham like last year
Baz Anderson - 16.03.2008 at 00:58
Written by Guest on 16.03.2008 at 00:55

Cool. Well, im hoping to buy my ticket pretty soon, but i think i'm gunna end up going on my own! Be cool to know some people going too!

Actually, i think it might have been you who suggested Argon to me a while back!

haha, it may have been! although things didn't run perfectly smooth with them, they got the job done and it was certainly easier to just jump on a bus as apposed to a train to an airport or whatever

but anyway, as you can see there will be a whole bunch of us staff again - so there will be another Metal Storm flag flying this year too (among other things) - if you see that then come over and say hello!
Aghahowa - 21.03.2008 at 21:51

source : massive music, booking.

Aghahowa - 24.03.2008 at 03:47

Aghahowa - 24.03.2008 at 14:22
Info confirmed by a member of Benighted, who played at Inferno festival.

Slayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer !!!!
Jeff - 25.03.2008 at 14:08
Yes, they will be back ....

But they will not be the only big name of the next and last announcement!

Yes, one other big name will come! (and it will be great for the French Metalheads (who like them of course...)).

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, you mean KISS will be headlining? or Anthrax (the French especially like them because of the Anti-Social cover)? or will it be Iron Maiden (French have to love that band because Nicko used to drum in Trust)?
White Winter Sun - 25.03.2008 at 17:37

I hope not because PoS was boring as hell last year only being surpassed in the boring factor by Dream Theater.

I do, but that wasn't the problem last year
Both their sets were just boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring, nothing happening at all, inspired, etc etc

Ha, ok.
No Dream Theater planned this year
Perhaps in the last addition, smile Marcel, smile, they can do it
Marcel Hubregtse - 25.03.2008 at 18:00
Well such bands leave me much pure unadultered drinking time So thank god for some of those bands. This year we have Helloween vs Gamma Ray for that.
Jeff - 25.03.2008 at 19:38
Well, POS live rocks! But it was not good last year at Hellfest that's right!

About the news, I will post a new flyer (the famous flyer of the Inferno) with new names tonight!

I got a bad news today though, one of the expected big names will not be there. Let's hope that they will find a big band to replace them...
Aghahowa - 25.03.2008 at 20:22
The only name for french metallers is GOJIRA !!!
Aghahowa - 25.03.2008 at 21:02
I also think that Chris Cornell will be at Hellfest :

- He'll play at Fields of rock the same week end
- He is booked by Nous Productions for a date at "La cigale - Paris" on june 24th.

Maybe they lowered their price because the Fields Of Rock festival (where they were headlining one day) has been cancelled today due to ppor ticket sales.
Baz Anderson - 26.03.2008 at 20:56
well if Hellfest get Judas Priest, I know I will explode... seriously I couldnt ask for any other band I wanted more
Aghahowa - 26.03.2008 at 21:22

Not even Iron Maiden on their current somewhere back in time tour? I would prefer them over Judas Priest, although I won't mind Judas Priest at all.
Baz Anderson - 26.03.2008 at 23:49
yep, really! I would love to see Iron Maiden as many times on this tour too - but I would still pick Judas Priest over any Iron Maiden set.
still.. I should get Iron Maiden at Wacken - I don't have anywhere I can see Judas Priest yet (unless I do end up at Download here)

and Angra have pulled out? that's really bad - they were one of the ones I was looking forward to most
Aghahowa - 27.03.2008 at 20:00
Next announcement of Hellfest staff : April 4th !

(delays probably due to cancellation of other bands (The dillinger escape plan ? Himsa ?))
Jeff - 28.03.2008 at 13:58
Angra, Red Sparowes and Himsa are cancelled! Don't worry for Dillinger
Aghahowa - 28.03.2008 at 19:38
Thanks for your answer.
I was sure for Himsa.
Dillinger there, cool !
Aghahowa - 02.04.2008 at 08:21

VENOM !! Headliner on friday
Candlemass will play too at Hellfest

The new flyer
Aghahowa - 06.04.2008 at 12:53
Blazing War Machine won Sin Cession tremplin yesterday.

I'm really disappointed because the band had all for us during the night. They played with a very bad sound (voice and bass inaudible) but the jury decided to favorize them...

I'm so disappointed for the other bands (who played with good sound. But with also poor lights in comparison to Blazing war machine... hum).
Aghahowa - 08.04.2008 at 21:02
