I'm sure Helloween and Gamma Ray would have converted you last year if you had given in to yourself and watched them. Hahahaha, only true happiness can be found when you are honest with yourself.
Hahahahahaha. |
|

Actually Ahab made me happier than both Helloween and Gamma Ray. And I'm not even into funeral doom |

Hell no, I've actually seen Helloween live. Full set. Yes, that may be shocking. I liked it, but only because i was in that 'wooh festival all metal is good' mood. |

| Just a seriously legendary festival! |

Well I booked my place on the bus there, so I shall be there once more!
Shall be good to meet all these Metal Stormers I've not met before, and of course see everyone I do know again. |

But hey, we got to see you only when you were waking up and when you were going to to sleep, otherwise you just disappeared during the day! Don't do that again! |

You little liar, were'nt we watching Watain in the tent ?! Right after Shining! |
|
|
|
| Haha, well it depends what is going on. Last year if I wasn't watching a show, I was running to the backstage to do an interview. That's probably what it will be like this year - but we should say that if we're not watching a show, we should congregate at our little meeting spot in front of the VIP bar like last year. |

| Holy shit the program is fucked up big time, too many good bands in just 3 days, if i were organizer i'd have extended it to 4 days or something, i mean WASP and Mastodon get 45 minutes to play, Dream Theater just one hour(that would mean they'd play only 2-3 songs lol), Amon Amarth and Moonspell one hour or so each, i wouldn't complain if i could attend it but it seems pretty weird. |

I am actually very glad that bands play 1 hour at most. Now Dream Theater will have to play their interesting songs instead of their boring ones.
An hour for a band max gives you better opportunities to check out UNKNOWN bands, Why watch the bands you already know to death? It is much more fun discovering something great you had never heard of before. |

hmmm well you are right to think that, given you know tons of bands already it's good to see some new stuff, but i'm speaking out of my experience.. at least if it were one of my favorite bands, such as Iced Earth, i'd sure as hell preferred if they played for much more than an hour.
and you are completely right about Dream Theater... now they can't play Erotomania and the likes still i predict their set will consist of a Learning to Live-The Dark Eternal Night-The Glass Prison-Fatal Tragedy(just listed random songs lol) acoustic medley with extended guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, kazoo, fart and tambourine solos... |

And OF COURSE it would TYPICALLY be YOU to say such a thing wouldn't it
to call Manowar posers suggests that they're not reallyy metal......i can't digest that for one second. |

| Got my plane tickets today. Gonna spend some time in Paris first though, and then I'll get to Hellfest by car probably. Lots of drinking about to happen on the festival. |

There last couple of albums are actually almost totally non-metal if you ask me.
But of course the word poser does not mean that a band isn't metal, it just means they are posing and posturing, whihc Manowar of course have always done. Just look at the silly clothes and sill things they say. They are imo on of the insincerest bands around. |

Yes, cause there is more non-metal on there than metal that in my books it isn't metal. Just like Metallica's Death Magnetic is noyt a thrash album just because it has some thrashy moments. |

Sure. Of 74 minutes only 48 minutes were actual songs and of those only 20 minutes were metal. You can't really call that a metal album, can you? |
