Swedish melodic death metallers Amon Amarth announced at the beginning of the year that they would focus entirely on their new album in the summer. It seems like they are doing exactly that as they are spending a week in "a cabin in the woods", according to frontman Johan Hegg, writing and rehearsing material for their next album, which is tentatively due out in 2016.
Amon Amarth don't usually go through many line-up changes, at least not in recent years. But today the melodeath band has some surprising news to share. Their long-time drummer Fredrik Andersson is out of the band. They have decided to part ways after 17 years. Why did he leave? Amon Amarth didn't say much, only that they are writing new material and they haven't found a replacement yet. It seems that they are keeping the matter private.
Currently touring in Europe, the bassist Ted Lundström of Swedish death metallers Amon Amarth recently did an interview with Metal Recusants at Colchester Arts Centre, United Kingdom. He has confirmed that the group is working on new material and that the successor of Deceiver Of The Gods should be released sometime next year.
Swedish metallers Amon Amarth are happy to announce that they will be returning to Europe in January/February, 2015 for a month long tour, which will emphasize cities in UK, France, Spain and Portugal. Amon Amarth have just debuted their brand new video! The Swedish melodic death metallers chose the title track to their 2013 album Deceiver Of The Gods for the video that features clips from the upcoming film, Northmen - A Viking Saga, which stars Tom Hopper, Ryan Kwanten, Ken Duken, and features Johan Hegg as Valli, as you probably know.

The much awaited new Amon Amarth video for the track "Father Of The Wolf" has finally been unveiled. The Swedes promised that the "Father Of The Wolf" mini-movie/video world premiere live would happen at the Las Vegas House Of Blues yesterday and it did. Now the epic production video is also available on YouTube which means you can watch it now here. You might remember this song from Amon Amarth's latest musical offering Deceiver Of The Gods, released last year.
After touring all over the Europe in November/December, Amon Amarth have now released some great news for Latin American fans. They have announced a 9-date headlining tour, encompassing 7 Latin American countries, where they will be performing in support of their latest output, Deceiver Of The Gods.
