Amon Amarth recently announced on their Facebook page that they have hired Jocke Wallgren (Valkyrja) as their new permanent drummer. He has been touring with the band for a while now. He joins the Vikings and replaces Fredrik Andersson.
Amon Amarth's new video is a veritable all-star metal feast, at least in terms of appearances. After headlining a North American tour earlier this year, and appearing at premier festivals across Europe all summer, Amon Amarth is now ready to launch their new video for "Raise Your Horns", featuring live footage from their San Diego (USA), London (UK), Paris (FRA), Tilburg (NED), Berlin (GER), and Hellfest (FRA) shows, as well as clips of fans, artists, and friends raising their own horns to the band. Amon Amarth have two new updates regarding upcoming shows. This September/October, the Swedish metal kings will return to the USA as direct support to the mighty Megadeth. Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church, and Havok are also on the bill. As far as Europe goes, they also announced the final shows and support. They will do a trek with Testament and Grand Magus on select dates, and finish it all off with Behemoth in Scandinavia! Support for all dates in Germany, France and Italy to be announced soon. All shows happen in support of their newest 10th studio album, Jomsviking.
Amon Amarth's Jomsviking arrives this Friday and there is another new song available online from the record. While the new album features special guest session drummer Tobias Gustafsson (Vomitory), on the live front, it will be Jocke Wallgren (Valkyrja, October Tide) accompanying the band, it has been announced. The Swedish melodic death metal titans Amon Amarth just revealed an epic new music video to prepare everyone for their upcoming album, Jomsviking. Watch the music video premiere of "At Dawn's First Light" on their website or here to hear another catchy tune of the impending output.
After releasing a teaser parody video, Swedish Vikings Amon Amarth have now officially announced their new album. The album will in fact be entitled Jomsviking and will be out on March 25th via Metal Blade Records (North America)/Sony Music (International). It was filmed in Gohrweide (Germany) and Warsaw (Poland) and features a cinematic depiction of the violent, brutal lyrics, along with powerful live footage of the band performing with their full dragon head and pyro stage-set.
Amon Amarth have released a video teasing a new release called First Kill, thought to be the name of their new album. The death metallers jokingly satirize Internet "Keyboard Warriors" on the video which also features UFC fighter and noted Amon Amarth fan Josh Barnett. Meanwhile, there is still no official word on their new album, even though we know that the band has been working on it. However, the promotion and teasing has started.
Swedish melodic death metallers Amon Amarth announced at the beginning of the year that they would focus entirely on their new album in the summer. It seems like they are doing exactly that as they are spending a week in "a cabin in the woods", according to frontman Johan Hegg, writing and rehearsing material for their next album, which is tentatively due out in 2016.

Swedish metallers Amon Amarth are happy to announce that they will be returning to Europe in January/February, 2015 for a month long tour, which will emphasize cities in UK, France, Spain and Portugal. The Swedish melodic death metallers chose the title track to their 2013 album Deceiver Of The Gods for the video that features clips from the upcoming film, Northmen - A Viking Saga, which stars Tom Hopper, Ryan Kwanten, Ken Duken, and features Johan Hegg as Valli, as you probably know.

The much awaited new Amon Amarth video for the track "Father Of The Wolf" has finally been unveiled. The Swedes promised that the "Father Of The Wolf" mini-movie/video world premiere live would happen at the Las Vegas House Of Blues yesterday and it did. Now the epic production video is also available on YouTube which means you can watch it now here. You might remember this song from Amon Amarth's latest musical offering Deceiver Of The Gods, released last year.
