After releasing a teaser parody video, Swedish Vikings Amon Amarth have now officially announced their new album. The album will in fact be entitled Jomsviking and will be out on March 25th via Metal Blade Records (North America)/Sony Music (International). See the cover below and enjoy the video for the album's first single, "First Kill" produced by Grupa 13 and directed by Darek Szermanowicz (Behemoth). It was filmed in Gohrweide (Germany) and Warsaw (Poland) and features a cinematic depiction of the violent, brutal lyrics, along with powerful live footage of the band performing with their full dragon head and pyro stage-set.
Amon Amarth have released a video teasing a new release called First Kill, thought to be the name of their new album. The death metallers jokingly satirize Internet "Keyboard Warriors" on the video which also features UFC fighter and noted Amon Amarth fan Josh Barnett. Meanwhile, there is still no official word on their new album, even though we know that the band has been working on it. However, the promotion and teasing has started.
Swedish melodic death metallers Amon Amarth announced at the beginning of the year that they would focus entirely on their new album in the summer. It seems like they are doing exactly that as they are spending a week in "a cabin in the woods", according to frontman Johan Hegg, writing and rehearsing material for their next album, which is tentatively due out in 2016.
Amon Amarth don't usually go through many line-up changes, at least not in recent years. But today the melodeath band has some surprising news to share. Their long-time drummer Fredrik Andersson is out of the band. They have decided to part ways after 17 years. Why did he leave? The much awaited new Amon Amarth video for the track "Father Of The Wolf" has finally been unveiled. The Swedes promised that the "Father Of The Wolf" mini-movie/video world premiere live would happen at the Las Vegas House Of Blues yesterday and it did. You might remember this song from Amon Amarth's latest musical offering Deceiver Of The Gods, released last year.
After touring all over the Europe in November/December, Amon Amarth have now released some great news for Latin American fans. They have announced a 9-date headlining tour, encompassing 7 Latin American countries, where they will be performing in support of their latest output, Deceiver Of The Gods.
