16:21 - Illog1cal Atheist have never been a Death metal band in my opinion, neither was Death after 'Human'.
15:11 - EMols86 It could be my inexperienced ears (when it comes to death metal), but Atheist - Piece Of Time sounds like way more like thrash metal than death metal to me.
Neurotic Deathfest, Europe's biggest death metal festival, will once again be hosted at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Netherlands. Next edition will be held on April 29 & 30.
Not only will there be over 40 bands climbing the stages of Tilburg again, but there will be even more attention for side programming to make the festival experience more than complete. After confirming genre heavyweights such as Autopsy, Atheist, Exhumed and more, the organization now confirms Swedish veterans At The Gates.
The organization commented to be truly honored to have legenday At The Gates committed to return to Dutch soil for an exclusive performance. At The Gates haven't performed within the Netherlands ever since their touring cycle of the infamous Slaughter Of The Soul album in 1995.
Good news everyone! At The fucking Gates will do a limited run of select shows in 2011.
Commented the band: "Simply put, we had the time of our lives during the 2008 reunion and have decided to do a couple of more shows. Although we won't be touring extensively, and we stick to the initial promise of not making anymore music. Please check our homepage and MySpace for updates."
The first confirmed show in 2011 is the Metaltown Festival, set to take place June 17-18, 2011 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Other confirmed acts on that billing include: System Of A Down, Cradle Of Filth, Parkway Drive and Raubtier.
UPDATE
At The Gates also confirmed for Tuska Open Air, taking place in Helsinki, Finland on July 22, 2011.
Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates are set to release The Flames of the End, a brand new 3-disc DVD set, through Earache Records. At The Gates released their definitive album, Slaughter Of The Soul - often regarded as one of the all-time greatest metal albums - on Earache in 1995, before touring the world and abruptly disbanding. Members of the band went on to play major roles in other notorious metal acts such as The Haunted and Cradle Of Filth, before reforming for a one-off tour in 2008 to rapturous response.
Now, to celebrate At The Gates' massively influential career and historical reunion tour, the band will be releasing The Flames of the End, an extensive, in-depth and definitive 3-disc DVD set on February 22nd, 2010.

"Yes, it's true... At The Gates will reunite for some shows next summer."
So says the message left on the band's official website. Guitarist Anders has also commented regarding the reunion:
"Well, it felt like the timing was right for once. We have been talking about a possible reunion for years now, but this was the first time everything fell into place. For me personally, it feels like getting closure. The break-up over ten years ago was abrupt and left a bad vibe between us that took years to get over. We have a better relationship today and a more relaxed approach to who we are and what we do. The time is right to get together and play some shows. Try to catch us live in the summer 2008. It could be your last chance."
In a recent interview on a swedish webzine, Adrian Erlandsson ex drummer of At The Gates, now with Cradle Of Filth, declared some interesting stuffs for all the At The Gates fans.
When asked about a possible reunion he answered:
- "Earlier on it has been like, 'no way'. I live in England and there was this show when Haunted and Nightrage played together with Arch Enemy . I talked to both Tompa and the twins and we decided that we will do a couple of shows some time when everyone can find the time, you know." -
He also adds that it can not be done while there is a lot to do with Cradle but that it looks as if it is going to happen.
Long-defunct Swedish thrashers AT THE GATES have launched a new official web site at this location: www.atthegates.se . Included on the site are a bunch of rare photos, recordings and other memorabilia.
One of the more melodic death metal bands to expand beyond Sweden and spread their sound across the world alongside peers such as ENTOMBED, AT THE GATES played a significant role in the death metal genre before breaking up in 1996, leading to the formation of THE HAUNTED (courtesy of the group's Yahoo! biography).
Besides, MÖRK GRYNING, VILE, ILLDISPOSED and ETERNAL GRAY are among the bands featured on the upcoming AT THE GATES tribute album, "Slaughterous Souls - A Tribute to At The Gates", due in September through Drowned Scream Records and Goi Music. The complete track listing for the effort is as follows:
