More new music! Norwegian black metallers Borknagar will release their tenth studio album, Winter Thrice, on January 22nd, 2016 via Century Media. Therefore, the band is now launching a promotional video clip directed by David Solbjørg and Kjetil Kolbjørnsrud of Twitchy Films for the album's title track, which also features former/original vocalist and Ulver-mastermind Kristoffer Rygg on guest vocals. The song is special because it features the 4 vocalists the band has had. The clip can be seen below.

The newest studio album by Borknagar is completed and now set for a worldwide release through Century Media Records on January 22nd, 2016. Today the first details are out in the open. The album is entitled Winter Thrice and will be the 10th album by these Norwegian black metal purveyors. The album was mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studio in Sweden by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Kreator, Paradise Lost, etc.), who already took care of mixing duties for their previous album Urd in 2012. Now you wait in anticipation for what's next.
Bassist/vocalist ICS Vortex and Borknagar have confirmed that Borknagar's new album is finally completed. This will be good news for the fans of the band who have been waiting for the follow-up to Urd (2012) for a while now. The master "tape" of their new album was officially delivered to their label Century Media Records. According to guitarist Øystein Garnes Brun, the album will contain 8 songs for the standard version and a limited version of the album will have an extra song.
Borknagar's vocalist Vintersorg is recovering from surgery. He underwent an ear surgery recently. As you might recall, Vintersorg was injured last year in a fall resulting in fractures to the skull, brain hemorrhage, and a momentary dysfunctional hearing on one ear. Hopefully, he will be able to recover from this. It's still early to tell at this point.

Melodic black metallers Borknagar have announced nine European tour dates for next year. This tour, which is their first ever headliner tour in Europe, is set to take place in March 2014. The tour is part of the Niflheim Festival tours and will be the first time Borknagar tour in Europe since 1998, the first real tour since 1999. The tour will also feature support bands Månegarm, Ereb Altor and Shade Empire. All the more reasons to go.

Norwegian black metallers Borknagar have announced the addition of new drummer Baard Kolstad to the band. Baard will take over duties replacing David Kinkade, who parted ways with the band last year. He joins, having been discovered by Vortex in the spring of 2011 while recording in Toproom Studio with a band. After this, both Borknagar and ICS Vortex were asked to participate in the anniversary recording of Metallica's Black Album, and as Asgeir Mickelson was unavailable, Vortex called up Baard and asked him to play on the song.
