Circle II Circle, fronted by former Savatage lead singer Zak Stevens, has released a trailer for their upcoming sixth album Seasons Will Fall. The album will be released on January 25th, 2013 through earMUSIC. A full European tour is to follow in 2013. Watch the trailer below to get pumped for the new album.
Former Savatage vocalist Zak Stevens and his band Circle II Circle have just started recording their fifth album. Entitled Consequence Of Power, this will be the second concept album of the band. The release is expected for Autumn 2010.
Circle II Circle have made a couple of changes in their line-up. Here's the official word:
"A couple of months ago, we parted ways with drummer Tom Drennan. We love Tom and wish him nothing but happiness and success in his future. Filling the spot is Johnny Osborn (X-Thirtien / Dr Butcher). Also included in the line-up change is the decision to go 4 members instead of 5. Guitarist Bill Hudson (ex-Cellador, ex-Power Quest) is no longer with us. He is pursuing his own band, Written In Blood, which is an amazing band! Be on the lookout for them. There have been rumors of a new guitarist. That is what they are... Rumors. We are happily moving forward as a 4 piece and wish Tom and Bill much luck in their future endeavors."
Circle II Circle have posted the following update:
"It is with great pleasure that we can now announce that guitarist Bill Hudson (known from Power Quest, Cellador and The Supremacy a.o.) has joined Circle II Circle.
Circle II Circle commented: "We're sad about parting ways with Evan, but the addition of Bill into the band is gonna keep us going strong. We start our North American tour with Jon Oliva's Pain and Manticora September 20."
Bill Hudson had this to say about the situation: "I'm really stoked about being a part of Circle II Circle! I've been a fan of Zak since high school. We met last year when I played ProgPower USA and became great friends. Then, a few months later I met Mitch (Paul Michael Stewart) at the Nightmare Metal Festival in Florida and we, too, became friends right there. It's almost like this whole thing was meant to happen!" When asked about the upcoming tour with Manticora and JOP, he said, "It'll be great to see Zak Stevens and Jon Oliva on the same stage again, and I'm truly honored that I'll be a part of it!"
A new full song from the forthcoming Circle II Circle album "Delusions Of Grandeur" has been posted at the band's official website, in the "Sounds" section. The song is called "Fatal Warning" and is the opening track of Circle II Circle's fourth album. Click here to check it out.
"Delusions Of Grandeur" is set to be released on April 25 2008 via AFM Records.
The new EP of Circle II Circle - the band around the former Savatage singer Zak Stevens - will be released on March, 28. The name of the 4 track single will be "Every Last Thing" and it will include a non album track as well as a live video clip.
The full length studio album "Delusions Of Grandeur" will be released on April, 25. Besides the standard CD, AFM Records will release a limited version including bonus material as well as a limited picture vinyl.
The following was posted on Jon Oliva's Pain's my space page:
Jon Oliva's Pain, Circle II Circle, & Manticora will team-up for the first leg of the North American "Global Intrusions" tour this fall. This marks the first time that Jon Oliva (Jon Oliva's Pain, Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) & Zak Stevens (Circle II Circle, ex-Savatage) have toured together since their days in Savatage in 1999.
"Wow, it's certainly been a while since I have been able to get back on the road here in America...it must be snowing in hell. It's going to be great touring in support of what I consider one of the best records of my career. We really pulled out all the stops for this one. Touring with Zak and the Circle II Circle guys is going to be a treat as well, especially for Savatage fans. We've got a few tricks up our sleeves so don't miss out as it may never happen again. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon" said Oliva. Stevens adds, "It's always special to perform on the same bill with Jon Oliva, especially here in the States! Obviously Jon has been a huge influence on my musical career and I remain one of his biggest fans. This tour will be a special event for all our fans that have enjoyed our work throughout the Savatage years and now into the new generation of Jon Oliva's Pain and Circle II Circle music."
American progressive metallers Circle II Circle has stated on their website that they are putting the finishing touches on their next album entitled "Delusions Of Grandeur", which will be released through AFM Records in the spring of 2008 followed by a European and US tours for the fall of 2008. Bassist Mitch Stewart states that the upcoming album is the heaviest release by the band. The band has also recently signed a worldwide deal with Intromental Management.
Spain's Locomotive Records will release worldwide the new album ("Burden Of Truth") from progressive/power metal masters Circle II Circle on October 10th.
"Burden Of Truth"'s captivating concept is taken from "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown and "Holy Blood Holy Grail" by Michael Baigent, Richard Leight and Henry Lincoln. Both novels theorize that Jesus Christ married Mary Magdalene, and their children's descendents prospered in France.
This "holy bloodline" has fascinated Circle II Circle singer/songwriter Zak Stevens for years. "Just imagine," he says, "that through years of research tracing back through your family tree, you uncover a secret religious society that reveals to you that you are, in fact, one of the direct descendants of Jesus!"
