10:16 - Spirit Molecule Cool review Willy, I'm still giving the album a couple more spins online. I think there are some cool parts but overall it didn't do much for me. But heck, the production is awesome. Got this nice big sound with all the layers

The wait is finally over for the new Daylight Dies opus. A Frail Becoming, the band's fourth album will be released on October 9th via Candlelight Records. However, in the meantime, you can check out the opening song, "Infidel", which is available for streaming exclusively at this location, where bassist/vocalist Egan O'Rourke also answers some questions about the new album.
Candlelight Records has confirmed October 9th as the North American release date for Daylight Dies' new album, A Frail Becoming, four years after the release of Lost To The Living. Mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Katatonia, Devin Townsend), the album features photography from award-winning Jonathan Mehring and packaging design by Agni Kaster. The cover artwork, final tracklist and album teaser can be found below.
US melodic death/doom outfit Daylight Dies have unveiled the first details from their upcoming album entitled A Frail Becoming. The band posted the following on their website: "We're pleased to finally announce the fourth studio Daylight Dies album will be titled A Frail Becoming. The album is currently being mixed in Sweden by the fantastic Jens Bogren (who was also responsible for mixing Dismantling Devotion and Lost To The Living)."
American doom metallers Daylight Dies have issued the following update regarding the band's upcoming album: "2011 has been a year of writing new music, recording in the studio and having an incredible time performing in Italy, Portugal and Spain. On the new album front, we've now completed guitar leads, rhythms, drums and bass guitar and clean guitar are halfway done. We'll wrap everything up in early 2012 and hopefully have a clearer idea for a release date then. Our goal is the first half of 2012. We are thrilled with how everything is sounding so far."
Daylight Dies have issued the following update regarding the new album:
"We have continued the steady march towards what will eventually become the fourth Daylight Dies album and are planning to begin pre-production in North Carolina in June. This means piecing together all the fragments of material we've exchanged amongst ourselves and refining them into polished demos which will aid in recording the album.
Since we now live in various areas of the country (North Carolina, California and New York), we felt it was especially important to hone the music together prior to the final recording. While a vague personality of the album has begun to take shape, there is still much more to write."
Daylight Dies have issued the following short update:
"All may have been quiet for a while on these pages, but it has not been quiet on the writing front. We are currently focused on writing new material for the next release and will be able to comment on it once we're further along. Also, keep your eyes on upcoming issues of Terrorizer Magazine, as Daylight Dies will be one of a few bands featured in an upcoming doom special."
According to an official press release from Candlelight records:
"Due to unforeseen difficulties with the printing of the new Daylight Dies album "Lost To The Living", Candlelight Records have regretfully had to postpone its UK & European release date until 14th July 2008. This difficult decision has been taken in order to ensure that the band's vision for their stunning new album is preserved, and to make sure it looks as good as it sounds!
"Lost To The Living" features captivatingly dark original artwork from renowned artist Travis Smith, who has worked with the band before and whose other previous collaborations include Opeth, Anathema & Katatonia!
With their new album, Daylight Dies have put forth the most mature and varied release of their career. The lush textures which were introduced with the previous album continue and are greatly expanded upon. Acoustic and clean guitars ride alongside heavy rhythms more prevalently than previously, creating a multi-layered sound saturated in atmosphere and depth. "Lost To The Living" is a mix of beautiful melancholic leads and harsh dissonant rhythms; despair driven hooks and the overall dark atmosphere you've come to expect.
