12:43 - Zaphod Well, any other country than my own would be an amazing opportunity if I ever decide to start a band, I was just giving it as an example because that's where Jari's from.
12:39 - Redn1ght Zap, Finland isn't that great apparently for touring bands.. (They seem to avoid it like a plague tormented country...)
12:31 - Zaphod Yeah, the comments on that guy's long post are also pretty entertaining.
12:30 - MelancholiaC Just curious, if he indeed turns his fanbase into a charity service, how is that any more ethically honest than "those greedy bloodsucking record companies"? (and I doubt Nuclear Blast can really be called one...)
12:26 - MelancholiaC I see that in the fb comments one guy in particular has called him out on it in a long response. Most people just want to throw their money at him through paypal...
It has been some time coming but guitarist Per "Sodomizer" Eriksson and Katatonia have now mutually agreed to part ways. Per joined the band in 2010 as a live session player and after some substantial touring quickly became a steady fixture being heavily involved in the recording of Katatonia's 2012 studio album Dead End Kings. For the Swedes upcoming Unplugged & Reworked Tour, Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief, Wisdom Of Crowds) will perform with the band as a special guest.
While it will be hard to compete with Hellfest 2014's line-up, there are plenty more festivals happening next summer in Europe and Brutal Assault is one of them. Right before Christmas, the organizers of the Czech festival have announced six new bands that will perform in August in Jaroměř: UK legendary band Venom, German thrash metal veterans Sodom, Swedish group Katatonia, French black metallers Aosoth, Irish folk metallers Cruachan and funeral doom metal band Worship.

Katatonia have been revealed as very special guests on Paradise Lost's Tragic Illusion 25th anniversary UK tour in October alongside Lacuna Coil. Since they are also celebrating their own 10th anniversary for their standout sixth album Viva Emptiness, the band will be performing the album in its entirety each night. To coincide with the shows and the album's 10-year anniversary, Viva Emptiness will be entirely re-mixed and re-mastered by David Castillo plus enhanced with new artwork courtesy of Travis Smith for a re-release on November 4th via Peaceville. The album will be available for pre-order from September 23rd.
