Leng Tch'e - Sign With Season Of Mist

Official press release

Season of Mist is proud to announce the fresh addition of Belgian grindcore act Leng Tch'e to the roster! The "razorgrind" band just finished recording their upcoming album at Parlour Studio in Kettering, UK with producer Russ Russell.

Bassist Nicholas Malfeyt commented: "We are very delighted and proud to be joining Season Of Mist. Being added to the same roster as Morbid Angel, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mayhem, Cynic and other greats is a huge opportunity and extremely motivating and exciting.

Leng Tch'e clearly needs a label with an open mind when it comes to extreme music, Season Of Mist definitely meets this criterion. That's why we feel it's a compliment that Season Of Mist owner Michael Berberian absolutely loved the new Leng Tch'e material. This, together with his modern and realistic vision on the music industry, made him the obvious choice to be working with.

We can hardly wait to release our next full length album in this new relationship with Season of Mist, so you better get ready for the return of the Razorgrind!"

Leng Tch'e's yet-untitled fifth album will be released before the summer. The band recently stated: "This is by far the heaviest and most extreme record we've ever made, and if that wasn't enough, the legendary Mr Barney Greenway himself laid down some guest vocals on a little song called "Totalitarian". Brutal as feck, as they apparently say in the Midlands."

Leng Tch'e - Studio Update, First Songtitles Revealed

Leng Tch'e are at the halfway mark of the mixing process for our next album so the band figured it would be time to give you guys a little update on how things are going here amidst the rustic scenery of Kettering, UK. The update reads as follows:

"After a seven hour drive across three countries we arrived at Parlour Studio to be greeted by our gracious host Russ Russell. A quick trip to the local supermarket later to stock up on basic supplies (designer water and baby oil) we were back at the studio and setting up our gear so Russ could start dialing in the brutal deathmetal sounds from hell. Towards the evening we settled on a duo of guitar amps - no we're not gonna tell you which ones - and the rest of the night was spent re-amping the guitar lines we recorded back in Belgium. It must be said that Mr Russell is one of the most dedicated and hard working producers we've ever met. And a funny little hairy bastard as well.

The next day we looked for a bass sound and once again Russ was floored by the awesomeness of our gear. Fuck yeah! In the evening we went down to London to catch a Burnt By The Sun show which was pretty fucking awesome, despite the amps acting all English and breaking down every other song. Friday and Saturday we worked on the vocals, in the meantime getting fat and lazy on a steady diet of veggie dogs and obscure English beers. So now it's Sunday, we're even fatter and lazier than when we got here after devouring a ridiculous amount of Chinese food yesterday and Russ has started on the mix of the first songs.

To lift part of the veil, here are some (working) song titles with a short musical description:

"Worldwide Genocide": Probably the opening song. Begins with a fast (surprise!) grind riff followed by a hardrock riff. Why? Because we can.

"Wirehead Imbeciles": Starts out as a grind song and then breaks down into a moshing doom riff if that makes any sense, followed by a swinging d-beat part.

"A.men": Short but sweet grind song with a catchy as fuck hardcore chorus.

And then there's the 9 minute final opus... no we're not kidding this time. This song has a groovy intro, about a minute of grindcore mayhem, a heavy deathmetal riff, a bunch of swinging I-don't-know-what-to-call-them riffs, finally ending in a seemingly neverending spiral of crushing doom.

And that's a fact!"

Leng Tch'e - Replace Vocalist

Belgian metallers Leng Tch'e have issued the following update:

"Today is another step in the never ending evolution of Leng Tch'e. Boris has decided to step down and will be replaced by Serge Kasongo from southern Belgian band Ackros. None of our upcoming shows will be cancelled and the recordings of the split CD with Fuck The Facts will also go ahead as planned."

A picture of the new line-up can be found at this location.

Here is Boris' statement on the matter: "After 4 of the coolest and craziest years of my life, I've decided to quit my activities in Leng Tch'e. A difficult decision, considering the fact that I really loved the shows/touring and hanging out with these guys. However, I came to a point in my life where other things start to matter. I don't have the energy and commitment anymore that I used to have, so the time has come to part ways with Leng Tch'e. For me it feels like ending a long term relationship and I think it will feel really strange knowing they will go on without me. Nevertheless, I know this is a well considered decision and wish them all the best in the future. Leng Tch'e has made me who I am today. Thanks for that!"

The band adds: "We'd like to thank Boris for all the good times, fun tours and great albums we've recorded together. It will definitely feel weird not having his bald ass around, but the show must go on! Serge blew us away right from the start and we are sure that he will take the band to new heights. We can't wait to share the stage with this madman and release our new music to the masses. Be sure to come out and catch this lineup live in action at the end of this month."

Leng Tch'e - Update From The Band

Belgium's Leng Tch'e have psoted the following blog on their MySpace page:

"As you can see we've revamped our MySpace site. We thought this would be a good occasion to make a couple of announcements, so here goes:

We're currently recording 4 brand new songs for a split 7"/MCD release with our good friends in Fuck The Facts. The split album will be released by Power It Up Records in the summer. These songs will be the first recordings with our new drummer Tony and will be a taste of what's to come on our next full length, due in 2009.

We're also working on a tour of Canada in November. Yup that's right, we'll be invading the frostbitten tundra once again. We've become way too lean these past two years so it's time to replenish our bodies with poutine."
