Finnish monster rockers Lordi have announced that they have "slammed into the studio with producer Nino Laurenne to record some killer new tunes", possibly for an upcoming album. If you forgot who Lordi is, they kind of "revolutionized" the Eurovision Song Contest by winning the whole thing in 2006 with their hit "Hard Rock Hallelujah".

With the release of their brand new album To Beast Or Not To Beast on the horizon, Finnish band Lordi have made the first single off the album, "The Riff", available for streaming online. See if you enjoy the song or not on the lyric video below.
After revealing the title and release date of their upcoming new album, To Beast Or Not To Beast, Finnish group Lordi has now unveiled the rest of the details about it, including cover and tracklist. Mr. Lordi created the album cover which can be seen below. Also, you can expect the first single of the album, "The Riff", to be released on February 8th, 2013.
Lordi has revealed the two new members that joined the band: Mana and Hella. Drummer Mana will replace the band's former drummer Otus, who passed away earlier this year. Hella replaces the band's long-time keyboardist Awa who left the band last summer. The band's new studio album To Beast Or Not To Beast will be released on March 8th, 2013.
What a complicated year it has been for Lordi. The Finnish glam/hard-rock band has now announced that their longtime keyboardist Awa will leave the band. She will be seen on stage for the last time at Simerock in Rovaniemi, Finland on August 11, 2012, when Lordi will be celebrating the band's 10 year anniversary. Awa joined the band in 2005 and her first Lordi album was the record The Arockalypse. Awa has played altogether on three Lordi studio albums.
Finnish hard-rockers Lordi have a new drummer. The band posted the following statement on their official website: "Lordi has got a new drummer. His character's name will not be revealed yet and he will be simply called 'the drummer' for now. The mask and the costume are kept to the minimum, but enough to fit him visually in to the band for the upcoming shows."
The band issued the following statement on their official website: "Our dear friend and band mate, 'Otus' Tonmi Lillman, has sadly passed away. He will be greatly missed and we send our condolences to his family and friends. Otus, we thank You from the bottom of our hearts for the short time we got to know you and spend with you together. Rest in peace, friend. Lordi Amen Ox Awa."
Remember that time Lordi fired their drummer because he appeared on stage with his other band without a mask? Omg, how could he! Right?
Well, it seems like Lordi have found a new drummer, called Otus - which stands for "creature". Needless to say he's one ugly motherfucker dude.
Mr. Lordi shares the following about Otus: "We are not really sure who or what he is, he is just... a creature, a thing (Otus in Finnish). He is a mixture of a butcher, an executioner, an alien, a lizzard and a zombie. Tough dude. And definitely one of the ugliest members in our family."
In case you were keeping track, Otus is the tenth member in Lordi family tree.
Finnish heavy metal monsters Lordi have released the following statement:
"It is our unfortunate task to inform that drummer Kita is no longer a member of Lordi. Kita has made a decision to pursue his own career publicly as himself, without his alter ego Kita. This is in direct conflict with one of the cornerstones of Lordi's image. Therefore it is not possible for him to continue as a member of the band anymore.
Lordi will continue as always, masked and costumed, consisting of monster personas. Also, the upcoming tour will happen as planned. We thank Kita for the years he has been an important part of the band and our successes and wish him all the best in his future."
This hard decision came after the announcement earlier today that Finnish melodic rock band Stala & So. - which features in its ranks Kita (real name: Sampsa Astala) on vocals and ex-Lordi bassist Kalma (real name: Niko Hurme; also known by his current stage name Nick Gore) - will be competing to represent Finland in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.
