Morbid Angel - Gig Cancelled Due To Tornado, One Dead, Multiple Injured

The Apollo Theatre in Belvidere, Illinois, where Morbid Angel, Revocation, Skeletal Remains, and Crypta were due to perform, was hit by a sudden tornado that caused the roof to collapse roughly 30 minutes into the show. One person was killed and 28 others were injured. Approximately 260 people, including guests, performers and staff were inside at the time. Morbid Angel re-scheduled their show in Joliet, Illinois that was supposed to happen the following day.

On May 29th, Earache Records is releasing the Altars Of Madness ultimate edition from legendary Florida death metallers Morbid Angel. This essential reissue features not only the original classic album, but a second disc of 'JuvenilIa Live At Rock City' (November, 1989) during the the Grindcrusher tour with Napalm Death. Altars Of Madness has been recreated using full dynamic range mastering, pressed from the original master tapes giving the listener a more aggressive and dynamic audio experience.

Morbid Angel - Former Guitarist Richard Brunelle Passed Away

It has been announced that former Morbid Angel guitarist, Richard Brunelle, passed away on Monday, September 23rd at the age of 55. He was part of the band from 1985 until 1992 and he appeared on the iconic albums, Altars Of Madness and Blessed Are The Sick. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Morbid Angel - Announce U.S. Tour, Special Vinyl Release

After being forced to cancel their last European tour, death metal veterans Morbid Angel will embark on a U.S. headlining tour in April. Support on the trek will come from Dreaming Dead and Hate Storm Annihilation, with Misery Index providing direct support from April 16th through April 25th and Origin providing direct support from April 26th through May 17th. The band will be showcasing their new album, Kingdoms Disdained, live.

Morbid Angel - Cancel European Tour

Morbid Angel have cancelled more European shows. After cancelling several festival appearances this summer due to unforeseen problems with a passport for one of the members of the band, the U.S. death metallers promised that the European tour in November/December would not be affected but it seems like that wasn't meant to be. This happens at a time the band is gearing up to release their new album, Kingdoms Disdained, due on December 1st on Silver Lining Music and via JVC in Japan.

Morbid Angel - Announce New Album

Floridian death metal masters Morbid Angel are finally returning with a new album. The new full-length from the band will be titled Kingdoms Disdained, and will be released on December 1st via UDR Music. The band has stated through their Facebook page that pre-orders will be available soon, and fans should stay tuned for more news. This will be the first album from the band since 2003's Heretic to feature Steve Tucker as the bassist/vocalist.

Morbid Angel - Cancel European Summer Festival Appearances

Death metal veterans Morbid Angel have been forced to cancel their European summer festival appearances scheduled for late July and August due to "unfortunate and last minute, unforeseen problems with a passport for one of the members of the band". Despite the disappointing news for the fans, the band confirms that their European Tour, which is set to start this November, will not be affected, according to the official statement below.

Morbid Angel - Recruit New Drummer, In The Studio

While former Morbid Angel members David Vincent (vocals, bass) and Tim Yeung (drums) will join forces to perform classic Morbid Angel songs under the I Am Morbid banner, Morbid Angel are currently in the studio working on their new album. Guitarist Trey Azagthoth recently updated on the recording process and announced that the band has enlisted a drummer: Scott Fuller from brutal death metallers Annihilated and Abysmal Dawn.

Morbid Angel - Part Ways With Guitarist Destructhor, Tucker Responds

Morbid Angel's line-up continues to crumble like a house of cards. Now, it's guitarist Thor Anders Myhren, aka Destructhor, that announces his departure. According to a statement revealed by Blabbermouth, Destructhor says the band wants someone local. He also says that he had already decided to leave the band to focus on Myrkskog. The returning frontman Steve Tucker has recently confirmed over Facebook that he doesn't know who will play the second guitar in the band.
