Last time we heard of Nachtmystium, its mastermind Blake Judd announced the end of the band and the release of a final album called The World We Left Behind. Nachtmystium are returning to Belle City Sound today to put the finishing touches on the band's farewell album. The album will be released via Century Media Records worldwide in late spring/early summer 2014. An exact release date will be announced when it is confirmed.
Recently, after being released from jail for charges of theft, Nachtmystium's mastermind Blake Judd had alluded to the possibility of the band's new album being the last. Today, in an statement posted on his Facebook page, Judd confirms that he is indeed laying the band to rest. You should cherish the new album The World We Left Behind coming next year because it will be their swansong, apart from a split with The Many.
UPDATE on 05.11.2013 [Thanks to D.T. Metal]: Nachtmystium have premiered a new song from the new album announced by frontman Blake "Azentrius" Judd as being called The World We Left Behind. The new song is called "Voyager" and will appear on the new opus to be released in early spring 2014 on Century Media Records. It was written and produced by Blake Judd (who also plays guitars, synth, and sings on it), recorded at Belle City Sound by Chris Wisco, with Tim Preciado on guitar, John Porada on bass, and Sam Shroyer on drums. Chicago is a hot spot lately. After the burger of controversy, Blake Judd of Chicago-based black metallers Nachtmystium has reportedly been arrested according to the Cook County Sheriff's Department Of Corrections website on charges of theft by unauthorized control of property not exceeding $500 in value. He was booked on Saturday, October 5th and his bail has been set at $25,000. Judd's next court date is scheduled for Friday, October 11th.
UPDATE on 16.04.2013: Gun Shy Assassin is now reporting that Nachtmystium is indeed on a hiatus but only in terms of touring, according to a statement released by Blake Judd which confirms he is in fact writing new material for the band.
No, this is not a dream. There is actually a new supergroup called Corrections House featuring Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium) and Bruce Lamont (Yakuza). Little is known about what this lineup created, but they are launching the band with a US tour (which will also feature solo sets from the artists comprising the band) in January/February 2013.

"As Made", a brand new song from US black metallers Nachtmystium is currently streaming online exclusively over at Invisible Oranges. The track is taken from the limited edition 7" single, with only 500 copies being pressed (200 black, 200 white and 100 in mint green vinyl), which also features a cover of the Joy Division song "The Eternal", with vocals by Chris Connelly (Revolting Cocks, Ministry).
