Romanian atmospheric black metallers Negură Bunget are back with an update about an upcoming EP to be released in May and a mysterious change in their musical direction.
Romania's folk black metal band Negură Bunget has checked in with the announcement about parting ways with keyboardist Inia "Neith" Dinia and vocalist Stefan "Chakravartin" Zaharescu. Inia has been part of the band for the last 6 years, while Stefan has been in the band for only a year.
Romanian black metallers Negură Bunget are busy writing material for their upcoming album, which they have decided to call Tău. The album will be the first of a three-part Transilvanian series and will be released via Prophecy Productions.
"La Marginea Lumii" (trans: Outskirts Of The World), a brand-new track from Romanian folk black metal band Negură Bunget, has been made available for streaming over at ReverbNation.
"La Marginea Lumii" comes of the band's upcoming new MCD Poartă De Dincolo (trans: "a gate from the above" or "carrying from the other side"), which will be released on April 25th through Code666 Records.
Negură Bunget have issued the following band update, including a detailed year recap and their plans for the future:
"2010 was the most intense year in the history of the band. Two albums released, Măiestrit on Prophecy Production and Vîrstele Pămîntului on Code666 Records, followed by a long European tour as headliners (Spirit of the Land Tour), another tour in autumn (Black Trolls Over Europe), some festivals in between (including Hellfest), some line-up changes (guitarists Corb and Spin were replaced by Urzit and Fulmineos), a MCD to symbolically end our 10 years cooperation with Code666 Records and a lot of work, all make this year special and unforgettable.
"We are proud to announce Negură Bunget is now finishing the work on the upcoming MCD - Poartă De Dincolo ("a gate from the above" or "carrying from the other side" ).
The material will be recorded again at Negura Music studio. As the name suggests it, the material focuses on exploring the relation between worlds, either from above, under or beyond... The MCD is the last Negură Bunget material to be released by Code666 Records marking the end of a collaboration started almost 10 years ago. We thank them for all the support and wish them good luck in the future!"
Prophecy Productions are proud to announce that Dordeduh, the new band of the former Negură Bunget core members Hupogrammos and Sol Faur has signed a long-term contract with Lupus Lounge / Prophecy.
Hupogrammos explains the philosophy behind the band: "Dordeduh aims to link the two words "dor" (English: yearning for something, missing something) and "duh" (English: spirit) to the significant values that make us humans, melting together the soul and the spirit. The way one aligns one's experiences with one's own soul, the way one relates to the Universe, the way one perceives and integrates, through Intention, the perpetually flowing Transcendence, that is what defines different levels of humanity in a person, that is what makes one Human."
Negură Bunget are ready to announce the title of the next album "Vîrstele Pămîntului" (English: The Ages of the Land/Earth).
"Vîrstele Pămîntului" is an album about embracing your destiny, about choosing and consciously assuming a way of life. The earth is where we came from and where go back into, the one from above and beyond us. Understanding and respecting it is understanding yourself, your purpose and destiny. "Vîrstele Pămîntului" is an album about places of the earth and places of the spirit, about bounds transcending worlds.
The work on the album is scheduled to be completed on a seclusion Negură Bunget will take into the wilderness of the mountains in the following weeks, to concentrate soley on the work for this album, which will be a landmark for its future evolution.

Swedish extreme metallers Shining have been confirmed to support Satyricon on the upcoming European Tour. The 17-date tour, set to start on the 2nd December, also includes Negură Bunget and Dark Fortress.
Referring to the recent cancellation of Shining's European tour, front man Niklas Kvarforth said: "We are all too aware of the fact that a lot of fans were disappointed by the actions of the Metal Maniacs Agency, which forced us to cancel the tour, but hopefully the tour with Satyricon will go some way towards making up for it. We are also looking at a lot of possibilities for next year at the moment, so be prepared for Shining and 2010".
Dates so far confirmed for the Satyricon + Shining + Negură Bunget + Dark Fortress tour as follows:
Din Brad, the folk project of Negură Bunget drummer Negru, is proud to announce "Dor" as the title of its debut album.
According to a press release, "Dor" is a unique Romanian word/concept describing a fundamental characteristic of the local spirit. "Dor" is your heart longing for something you had and then lost, longing for something you wished for yet never had, longing for a person, a place, a time... "Dor" reflects a Romanian mythical time, in the same way as "Plai" reflects a Romanian mythical space. As a first step in the exploration of local traditional soundscapes, the album "Dor" is composed out of two distinct elements. On one side there are authentic Romanian traditional songs, sung by local performers and recorded in their original environment. On the other side there are some personal visions and reinterpretations of Romanian traditional music, performed and recorded in the studio, some featuring some prestigious guests. Both are mended by the same feeling powering them - "dorul". While the first part is the result of years of investigations into what is still alive today from the Romanian musical and spiritual ancestral traditions, the second part is a personal expression influenced by Din Brad's understanding and living of the lands that gave them birth.
The two recently departed band members, Hupogrammos and Sol Faur issued the following statement today:
"This statement is signed by Sol Faur and myself (Hupogrammos). Our aim is to shed light on the recent developments in relation to Negura Bunget. We also want to prevent further abuse of the name Negura Bunget and our past activities. Our decision should be well understood and fans and media have a right to be correctly informed of the current development. We owe this to the public and Negura Bunget itself. There is no intention to turn this into a personal issue between us and our former drummer Negru. We do not wish to create a public scandal, but a line has been crossed and it is time now to stand up and fight for what we believe in.
Romanian folk black metallers Negură Bunget have parted ways with long-time members Hupogrammos (vocals, guitar) and Sol Faur Spurcatu (guitar). Founding member Gabriel "Negru" Mafa issued the following update:
"This has to be one of the most difficult messages to be written. We are sorry to announce that Hupogrammos and Sol Faur have ended their journey along Negura Bunget. Our paths are now apart. We wish them all the best on their new endeavors (their new project will be announced at a later time).
Meanwhile, a new Negura Bunget line-up is assembled , which will continue the path started almost 15 years ago. Rest assure, we are keen to prove there is more to be said by this band, and we will work to fulfill our spiritual endeavor relentlessly .
Negura Bunget's first four releases will soon be re-issued in Digipaks with improved artwork.
"From Transylvanian Forest" is the only demo recording from Wiccan Rede, the legendary precursors to Negura Bunget. This re-release with two bonus tracks lays bare the roots of Negura Bunget in an unique way.
On their debut album "Zîrnindu-Sã", the Romanians celebrate a furious and primal black metal with sophisticated drumming and racing guitars. For many fans, this record still marks the band's pinnacle. The re-release comes with a bonus CD featuring a previously unreleased alternative recording of the entire album.
The potential hinted at on these releases was fully tapped on the EP "Sala Molksa". "Sala Molksa" offers highly original symphonic black metal with a penchant for complex arrangements. This re-release comes with a bonus CD as well, containing an unreleased alternative recording of the EP.
