Good news arrive from the Omit camp today. Omit is doom metal band based in Oslo, Norway and their debut album Repose came out in 2011. Now its successor is being recorded at the Secret Quarters studio, as it was revealed by the band on their official Facebook page.
While it appeared yesterday that In Flames' website might have been hacked promising more info today, now it seems like a prank from the band setting up for the album announcement. When you click on the info, you find a short video revealing that the album has been set for release in September and will be titled Siren Charms. The new album was recorded at Hansa Studios in Berlin and should come out under Epic Records.
Tuomas Holopainen's debut solo album The Life And Times Of Scrooge is released today in Europe so it seems perfect to unveil a new lyric video. This time, you can hear the track "The Last Sled". The Canadian up-and-coming power metal band Crimson Shadows has signed a deal with Napalm Records. The band's debut record came out in 2011, Glory On The Battlefield, and the next one has already been recorded and will be released worldwide in the summer. The band previously won the international Wacken battle in 2013.
The funeral doom project Doom:VS, from Draconian member Johan Ericson, has finally revealed a new track titled "White Coffins" from their new work Earthless. Six years have passed since the release of their latest creation Dead Words Speak but now it is time for something new. French massive doom/sludge act Oruga has revealed a video trailer for their upcoming debut album, Blackened Souls, to be released on May 19th via Apathia Records. Peaceville Records has recently announced the release of Black Death And Beyond, which is a special collector's box set featuring an in-depth book containing extensive accounts of the Darkthrone's history and philosophy from both Gylve 'Fenris' Nagell and Ted 'Nocturno Culto' Skjellum, as well as additional recollections from bass player Dag Nilsen. Also included are three vinyls featuring Darkthrone's own choice cuts from their illustrious collection of death/black and metal/punk classics, presented on white, black and transparent vinyl, plus woven Darkthrone patch.
