Swedish progressive melodic death metal band Scar Symmetry just revealed the cover artwork for the band's upcoming album The Unseen Empire.
The Unseen Empire will be released on April 15th through Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented drummer Henrik Ohlsson: "The Unseen Empire seeks to expose the hidden hand of the elite that pull the strings of mankind in order to fullfill their agenda of global domination. The album concept goes from theories of shadow governments to secret ancient bloodlines and even further into speculations of malevolent influence from metaphysical reptilian-based intelligences. Mankind's only hope to survive seems to be an internal awakening where the influence of the the unseen empire that rules in secrecy is washed away from the minds of the masses. They want us to stay within the framework of their agenda, hypnotizing us with things that draw attention but has no value. It's time to step outside the framework and make The Unseen Empire visible!"
Australian melodic death metal act Universum have finally uploaded a new track to be featured on the upcoming Mortuus Machina.
"We have uploaded the first mix of the Mortuus Machina song "Sum Of The Universe". It features guest vocals from Christian Alvestam (ex-Scar Symmetry, Solution .45) along with lead solos from both Nightrage axemen Olof Morck and Marios Iliopoulos. It's one of the album's more melodic tracks and will be even more ballsy once producer Jens Bogren is finished with it!"

Drummer Henrik Ohlsson also commented on the choice of the album title and its artwork: "The album title came from the scientific fact that you can't see at least 95% of the universe and despite that fact we behave like we know everything there is to know. We trust our eyes even though they give us a very limited range of perception and we dismiss things because they seem to defy our narrow and cynical sense of logic. The title "Dark Matter Dimensions" stands for an appreciation and acknowledgement of the unseen worlds and dimensions, because without the existence of these unseen forces our physical universe would never be able to exist. These so-called "Dark Matter Dimensions", a term I use for everything unseen, orchestrates everything our eyes are allowed to see. And you can bring this down to a personal level aswell, from the macrocosmic to the microcosmic, and realize that our appearance stands for a small percentage of who we are. At least 95% of what we are consists of consciousness, thoughts, feelings and other unseen activities. So the term "Dark Matter Dimensions" applies on both macrocosmic and microcosmic levels. As above, so below.
Scar Symmetry have announced some new decisions among the band:
"When things went from bad to worse and we realized that it wasn't going to work out with Christian, we were faced with two options; either calling it quits, or seizing the opportunity to take the next logical step in the evolution of our sound. We chose the latter. We've used both growls and clean vocals in our music since day one, and with each album we've pushed the envelope of what you can do vocally in a metal band to the point where a lot of the songs on "Holographic Universe" would be hard if not impossible to sing live. So the question is: Is it really possible to push the vocals even further and manage to perform everything live?
