Former Nightwish singer Tarja will release her new album Colours In The Darkin Europe on August 23rd via earMUSIC and the album will be made available in North America on August 27th through Eagle Rock imprint Armoury Records. The new release is the successor to What Lies Beneath (2010) and we begin to know more about it as the cover artwork created by Dirk Rudolph has been unveiled and can now be seen below.
Finnish singer Tarja has announced more details about the upcoming new album. It will be entitled Colours In The Dark and will be released on August 23rd through EarMUSIC Records. The album was mixed and mastered by Tim Palmer in Austin, TX. Tarja has also revealed a string of tour dates (mainly in Germany), which you can check out below.
EarMUSIC and Tarja have announced the renewal of their collaboration for a set of new releases spanning over the next few years. Tarja's fans will be happy to know that the follow-up to 2010's studio album What Lies Beneath will hit stores between August and September of 2013.
Finnish singer Tarja has released a live video for the previously unreleased song "Into The Sun", taken from her upcoming first-ever solo live DVD/CD titled Act I. The single is already available on iTunes. Act I will hit stores in Europe on August 24th and in North America on September 4th via earMUSIC featuring performances in Argentina. Tarja, also known as the former Nightwish singer, has just announced the release of her first solo live album and DVD. Titled Act I, it will be released on August 24th across the globe in the formats CD, DVD and Blu-ray via earMUSIC, the German branch of the rock-Edel Group.
The singer has announced her participation in a new project named Harus.

"There is an old Finnish tradition when it comes to newborns - the baby is not to be named until the baptism ceremony, when he or she is presented to the family with the chosen name.
A few years ago, in 2006, a new project from Tarja was born and, following the same tradition, the time has come to baptize it, to make the presentations to the family and to give it a name - Harus.
Leaves' Eyes are happy to announce the dates of the upcoming shows in April and May 2011, headlining the tour with special guest Midnattsol, as well as being direct support for Tarja.
Singer Liv Kristine comments: "Both tours are just perfect for the release of our fourth full-length album Meredead. Firstly, I will finally share stage with my sister, Carmen Elise Espenaes (Midnattsol), which is like a dream coming true. Secondly, it's a great honor for us to go on tour with our friends and support Tarja Turunen and her outstanding band! We are really looking forward to this. It will truly be a special experience for our fans and us!"
At Nachtleben in Frankfurt the official release party of the new album Meredead will take place with some specials for the fans.
Earlier this week, the news got out that soprano Tarja Turunen will perform a unique Christmas tour 2010 with well-known Finnish musicians - Kalevi Kiviniemi, Marzi Nyman and Markku Krohn. They will perform in churches in Oulu, Lahti, Kuopio, Pori and Keuruu. The Artistic Director of the concerts is Kalevi Kiviniemi and the concerts are organized by Rowan3 Productions. Tickets are on pre-sale now.

Finnish soprano singer Tarja Turunen has premiered her new video for the song "I Feel Immortal" online. You can watch the new "I Feel Immortal" video below or at this location.
The video was shot in Iceland. In a statement on her website, Tarja wrote: "...it's going to be probably the most beautiful video I have ever done in my career. The country is just unbelievably amazing with its stunning landscapes, so we managed to find incredible places for shootings."
The single I Feel Immortal wil be exclusively released in Germany, Switzerland & Austria on 27th of August, and will also feature on Tarja's new album What Lies Beneath, to be released early September.

Tarja Turunen recently finished recording her forthcoming new album, What Lies Beneath, which is now being mixed at three different locations with three different engineers.
"The first stage will take us to London," says Turunen. "I am going to spend next couple of weeks mixing part of the album with Mr. Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot) at Miloco Studios.
"I have good news my friends. What Lies Beneath is finally recorded!!!!!
Only waiting for some guests that will record few parts and send them over.
It was a great last vocal session. I am grateful that everything I planned was accomplished. Also the things that we decided on the way have only improved the songs making the overall picture clearer in the end.
Former Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen has set "What Lies Beneath" as the working title of her new solo album, tentatively due before the end of the year. She says, "With "My Winter Storm", I chose the name of the album in the early stages and that helped me to create the concept for the album. With the new album, I decided to do it the same way, so I searched for an inspiring title and all the songs are one way or another related to it."
Regarding the songwriting process for the new CD, Turunen says, "In the last months I've been writing a lot of music for my new album. Songwriting is always an amazing learning experience, and it has been a pleasure to discuss music with different people.
