"Jordafärd" (which translate as "Burial") is the second single to be released from Viking/Pagan metal act Thyrfing's upcoming album, Vanagandr, set for release on August 27th via Despotz Records. The track's cover artwork and visuals were made by Niklas Sundin (ex-Dark Tranquillity). The distinct cello parts for the track were recorded by Fox Skinner (Grand Magus) along with Dutch artist Lon Snow, and we also hear Swedish soprano Natalie Hernborg in the finale.

De Ödeslösa ("The Fateless"), as it is called, already has a cover artwork and you can take a gander at it below. The cover was created by Costin Chioreanu (Twilight13Media). In June, Thyrfing signed a deal with NoiseArt Records with a promise of a new album. Now the band has revealed that Jens Bogren (Opeth/Paradise Lost/Witchcraft) has put the final touches on their upcoming opus at Fascination Street in Örebro, Sweden. The title of the album will be De Ödeslösa and is set for release this coming spring.

The following message has been put on the official website of Swedish Viking Metal band Thyrfing:

"After a decade in the band, both Thomas Väänänen and Henrik Svegsjö have decided to leave Thyrfing. They have informed us that they lack the motivation needed for another album. We have split ways on good terms, and would like to thank them for all these great years."

With this being said, we hereby welcome Jens Rydén to the band as new vocalist. Jens is best known as founding member and ex-vocalist of Naglfar and recently also for his one-man army Profundi. We all feel very enthusiastic about bringing new blood into the band and it will be very interesting to write and compile the next Thyrfing album together.
For the time being we will go on with one guitar player, and time will tell what happens to the second guitar position?"
