Legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen has recently announced set of North American tour dates for this coming April/May. Malmsteen will be performing in support of his latest new album, Spellbound, which was released on December 5th, 2012 through Rising Force Records. Neoclassical guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen has revealed the tracklist and cover artwork that will grace his upcoming new offering Spellbound. Apart from the guitar shredding, he also delivers the lead vocals as well as the other instruments on the new album. The worldwide release date of Spellbound is set for December 5th.
"Rumors have been circulating for some time, but Guitar World has confirmed that Ripper Owens is indeed the new lead singer for Yngwie Malmsteen. Yngwie announced the news to the Guitar World staff today when he came to the magazine's New York headquarters for an exclusive interview and photo shoot.
Malmsteen and Owens, who formerly fronted Judas Priest, are hard at work on a new CD, which is currently scheduled for a July release."
According to a short post on Yngwie Malmsteen's website "Yngwie is working hard on a new rock album." More details will be announced "as soon as Yngwie is ready to divulge the details!".
