Meshuggah - Plan To Record New Album In 2016

Meshuggah haven't said much about a new album until now. Koloss, their latest record, was released back in 2012. Since then, the band has released an EP and a DVD and also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the recording of their first EP. According to a recent interview of guitarist Mårten Hagström, the plan is to record the upcoming album next year. The band should focus exclusively on writing new material after August.

Otep - Singer Assaulted On Stage, Hits Back

After allegedly being sexually assaulted by the former frontman of Terror Universal, singer Otep Shamaya was reportedly nearly attacked by an audience member at the band's show in Belvidere, Illinois on June 7th. He rushed the stage, and she hit him with the microphone to defend herself. Otep's singer has now released a statement regarding the assault incident. No word yet on if any charges are being pressed.

The SLoT - Drummer Steps Down, Replacement Announced

Last week, Russian alternative metallers The SLoT revealed that longtime drummer Kirill "The Dude" Kachanov would be stepping down from the kit after 11 years of service. While they did not go into detail about the reasons for his departure, the band stated that they parted as friends and that they wish The Dude well in his future projects.

Blackfield - Steven Wilson & Alan Parsons On Next Album

Good news were promised, and good news were delivered by Aviv Geffen, mastermind of Blackfield, earlier today. It seems that both Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, ex-Blackfield) and Alan Parsons will be featured in the next Blackfield album. The band has posted a photo from a February 2015 recording session for album number #5, with no extra information given about which capacity they are participating in. It will also re-introduce the co-operation between successful Englishman Steven Wilson and Israeli Aviv Geffen in an album.

Cannibal Corpse - Announce Latin American Tour With Testament

Death metal veterans Cannibal Corpse are very pleased to confirm that the band will be touring Latin America in November and December with Californian thrash legends Testament. Lamb Of God - Premiere New Track

Lamb Of God have just premiered a brand new track! The American metallers are showcasing a song from their new album VII: Sturm Und Drang, more specifically "512". The song lyrics are about Blythe's experience in a prison in the Czech Republic, where he had been charged with manslaughter for allegedly pushing a fan offstage and causing injuries that led to the fan's death. The vocalist was eventually found not guilty, but still spent over a month incarcerated. It was during that time that he began writing "512" - in Pankrác Prison cell number 512. You can hear the track below.

Windhand - Announce New Album

Windhand's anticipated, third full-length album is ready. It will be titled Grief's Infernal Flower and is set for release on September 18th on Relapse Records. Recorded in Seattle at Soundhouse Recording with legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, High On Fire), the album contains nine songs and promises to be their most ambitious record to date.
