Meshuggah - 25th Anniversary N. American Dates

After announcing they would do special 25th anniversary shows, Sweden's technical metal quintet Meshuggah started announcing the first dates. The band is returning to North America this summer to celebrate their 25th year of musical deviance with festival appearances, Canadian dates, and clubs. Opening for them (on all but the two festival dates) will be proggers Between The Buried And Me.

DragonForce - New Album Detailed, New Demo Online

Rejoice DragonForce fans, since the band's new album, the follow-up to the successful The Power Within, has now been detailed. The album will be called Maximum Overload and it will be the band's debut album for new label earMUSIC, which will release it in the UK on August 18th, and it drops in the USA on Metal Blade Records on August 19th. DragonForce is also streaming a demo of a new track, "Defenders" (featuring Matt Heafy), which you can listen to below.

Equilibrium - Two Members Quit The Band

Shortly after unveiling their new album, folk metallers Equilibrium now announce two departures from the group. According to the band, this weekend they received an unexpected message from Sandra van Eldik and her brother Andreas Völkl, who told them that they will leave the band. Darkest Era - New Album Art And Tracklist Revealed

Northern Ireland folk metallers Darkest Era have recently revealed the cover artwork and tracklist for their forthcoming second album Severance which is due for release on June 3rd (US) and June 13th (Europe) via Cruz Del Sur. The album was recorded at Data Recording Studios in Ballyheigue, Ireland and produced by Chris Fielding and Darkest Era. The intricate artwork was created by Costin Chioreanu and you can feast your eyes on it right here.

Kittie - Releasing Documentary DVD And Book

Canadian all-female group Kittie announced that they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary with a Documentary DVD featuring never before seen footage, and a tell-all book that digs deep to give you the story behind the music. Also, Kittie plans on releasing their entire musical catalog re-mixed and re-mastered along with rare never released tracks in a box set.

Earache Records - Sues Century Media

Last year, metal labels Earache Records and Century Media Records announced a three-year deal where Century Media would handle all of Earache's physical product distribution in the US but it looks like things aren't going very well. According to the Courthouse News Service, the British metal label Earache Records has filed a lawsuit against New York-based The Century Family, an affiliate of the nonparty record label Century Media Records, claiming that the U.S. distributor owes it $250,000 in licensing fees, and broke a promise to release a catalog of hundreds of albums.

Sólstafir - North American Tour Dates Announced

This week, Iceland's Sólstafir have announced a brief string of North American tour dates. The band's first-ever North American trek starts on May 15th in Toronto and will continue through the band's stop at this year's Maryland Deathfest on May 23rd. Fu Manchu - New Song Online, New Album Detailed

Fu Manchu have recently released a brand new song from their new album and also showed us more about it. The American stoner group announced that their 11th opus is called Gigantoid and is due out on April 29th in the USA and April 28th in the rest of the world on their own At The Dojo Records and distributed by Cargo distribution. Equilibrium - New Album Detailed

With so many releases being announced lately, Equilibrium have also revealed all about what will be their fourth studio album. The German folk metallers have named it Erdentempel and guitarist, composer and lyricist René Berthiaume spent almost four years working on this new creation. The cover artwork was done, just like the one for the Waldschrein EP, by Skadi van Terror and yes, you can see it right here along with tracklist and other details.
