Scorpions - Releasing 'MTV Unplugged' In November

A few months ago, Scorpions announced special MTV Unplugged acoustic shows in Athens, Greece. The group played two acoustic sets in the Lycabettus theatre of Athens. The open air theatre was designed by the Greek architect Takis Zenetos in 1965 and thus is just the same age as the story of the Scorpions. The band recorded these shows for posterity and will be releasing MTV Unplugged - Live In Athens on November 29th, available as double CD, DVD, Blu-ray and in various other digital and physical configurations.

Freedom Call - New Album Details And Tour Announced

German happy metallers Freedom Call announced recently that their new studio album Beyond will be released on February 21st, 2014 in Europe and March 4th 2014 in North America. The band entered the studio in September to record new material. Following the release, the guys will hit the road on the tour entitled Light Over The Beyond 2014.

King Diamond - Performance At Japan's Loud Park Cancelled

Legendary heavy metallers King Diamond were supposed to be performing at Japan's Loud Park Festival 13 tomorrow but their appearance has been canceled. The festival organizers released a statement explaining that the band cancelled their performance "due to their equipment not arriving in Japan in time" and because they didn't want to use a substitute equipment. This morning, King Diamond responded to this by saying that their performance was cancelled by the promoter and not the band.

Motörhead - New Video Online

Motörhead's new video for the song "Heartbreaker", from the metal trio's new album Aftershock, has debuted online. "Heartbreaker" incorporates concert footage from this year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards ceremony in the U.K., a 2010 Manchester gig and several 2011 shows (including Rock In Rio, Wacken Open Air Festival and Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago, Chile). Watch the video here which also features sketch art created by frontman/bassist Lemmy Kilmister.

Grave Digger - Enter Studio In January, Vinyl Reissues

After last year's Clash Of The Gods album, heavy metallers Grave Digger have recently announced that they will return to the studio from January to March 2014, which means they are working on new material. In other news, Back On Black Records, which specialises in vinyl editions of classic metal albums, also confirmed that they will release five Grave Digger albums on deluxe vinyl on October 28th.

Transatlantic - Announce New Studio Album

Progressive rock supergroup Transatlantic, featuring Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Roine Stolt and Pete Trewavas, has recently announced the release of their brand new fourth studio album Kaleidoscope on the 27th of January 2014. The tracklist for the forthcoming record can be found below as well as the groovy artwork. The album will feature five, potentially long and epic, songs. The successor to The Whirlwind is coming.

Illdisposed - New Drummer Announced

As previously reported here, Danish metallers Illdisposed parted ways with drummer Thomas "Muskelbux" Jensen after a ten-year relationship but his replacement has already been announced. The new drummer is also a Jensen, but Kim Langkjær Jensen. He has been replacing Thomas at most of their 2013 shows already. Watch the new man in action on the video below.

Tad Morose - Streaming New Song

After a 10-year hiatus, Tad Morose are returning with their seventh album Revenant. You will still have to wait until November 20th to get the album but the band has released another new song for you to enjoy: "Millenium Lie". This is also their new single which is released digitally on October 20th. It is supposed to be one of the heaviest tracks on Revenant.

The Brothers Highhorse - Reveal New Vocalist And Logo

Dallas, Texas-based extreme metal band The Brothers Highhorse have announced that founding guitarist Dan Sharp has moved from guitar to vocals. In the same update they have also revealed their new logo and that "general badassery is afoot".

Amaranthe - Andreas Solveström Steps Down, Replacement Announced

The Swedes Amaranthe are going through a line-up change. The band just announced that Andreas Solveström has chosen to step down as the growl vocalist in Amaranthe. His reasons are personal and the split is amicable and friendly, and not the result of any hard feelings. And since the band is not planning to slow down, they have welcomed a new member: Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson (Scarpoint), who filled in for Andy on their latest European and American tour.
