Kamelot - Confirmed For 70000 Tons Of Metal And Wacken Open Air 2012, Update On New Album

US symphonic power metallers Kamelot are the newest confirmation for the 70000 Tons Of Metal festival and Wacken Open Air 2012, as was revealed on their official website. Kamelot's founder and guitarist Thomas Youngblood states: "We are very excited about returning to Wacken for 2012, this is one of the best festivals in the world and we will be planning our biggest stage presentation ever. Get ready for some fire!"

Gwar - European Tour Cancelled

The European leg of US alternative metallers Gwar's Return Of The World Maggot tour, scheduled to kick off in January 2012 has been cancelled after several promoters pulled the plug on shows, citing poor ticket sales.

Gwar spokesman Dave Brockie commented on the tour's cancellation: "Several of the promoters were alarmed by the low ticket sales, and they decided to start pulling the plug on shows. It got to the point where we had lost so many shows that we simply could not afford to do the tour."

Within Temptation - New Video Released

Dutch symphonic metallers Within Temptation have released a new music video for the song "Fire And Ice". The video features live footage and video footage shot especially for visuals used in The Unforgiving Tour. You can watch it below.

The song comes off their fifth studio album The Unforgiving, which sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 50 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Moonspell - Sign With Napalm Records

Portuguese gothic metallers Moonspell have signed a worldwide recording deal with Napalm Records.

A new album by the dark metal band revolving around the charismatic frontman Fernando Ribeiro will be released in spring 2012. Fernando Ribeiro also commented: "With Moonspell nothing really ends, but always ever begins. Signing with Napalm is a firm step into cutting all bullshit and work with people who truly believe in us and respect our longevity, while helping us to embrace those who have been arriving in the last years to start with us yet another kingdom of darkness under the moon. Drummer Morgan Berthet has officially joined Tunisian prog metal outfit Myrath on a full-time basis. The band posted the following on their Facebook page: "We are pleased to announce that talented drummer Morgan Berthet, who has proven to be a fantastic drummer and a great bandmate throughout our recent 6 weeks long European tour has now officially joined Myrath on a full-time basis in replacement of Piwee Desfray. We thank Piwee for his services to the band and wish him all the best in his career."

Sounds Of Extreme Tour 2012 - Announce Line-Up And Headliners

This year announced Sounds Of Extreme Tour will kick off at the end of January 2012! The bands creating this event will be Krisiun, Malevolent Creation and Vital Remains. The Brazilians will come back to Europe with their new album The Great Execution released by Century Media. As for Malevolent Creation, they promote still smashing Invidious Dominion (Nuclear Blast). Vital Remains don't have new piece of music but Tony Lazaro promised to present some new sounds from a new album ready to be recorded in 2012. The line-up is completed by five new bands. Previously announced Immolation shifted their tour for spring 2012.

Epica - New Album Details Revealed

Dutch symphonic metallers Epica have unveiled the cover art and tracklist for the upcoming album Requiem For The Indifferent, to be released on March 9th, 2012, in Europe and four days later in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. This is their fifth full-length album and it was recorded at Gate Studio in Wolfsburg, Germany, by Sascha Paeth.

As I Lay Dying - Recording New Album Next Spring

In a recent interview with the Phoenix New Times, US metalcore act As I Lay Dying declared the intention to enter the studio next springtime and start a new tour after finishing recording the new album.
