As previously reported, Satyricon have been recording their new opus and successor to The Age Of Nero released back in 2008. Recently, the group's mastermind Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven has revealed that the recording process is nearing completion.

In 2012, doom metallers Windhand released their self-titled debut album. The band is now putting the finishing touches on their second release for Relapse Records, due out this fall, which was recorded and mixed by the band's own Garrett Morris at The Darkroom and mastered by James Plotkin, in their hometown of Richmond, Virginia. Moreover, the band will trek across North America this summer showcasing songs from their upcoming new album.
Guitarist Daniel Laskiewicz is no longer part of The Acacia Strain. He was informed by the band that they will move on without him, who was mainly writing music for The Acacia Strain and not involved in the touring.
A couple of days ago, Russian Circles began recording their new album in Chicago at Electrical Audio with long time allies Brandon Curtis (Geneva, Empros) producing again and Greg Norman engineering. This will be the band's 5th full length album and the follow up to 2011's Empros. The album is scheduled for release later this year through Sargent House Records.
Down Among The Dead Men is the new musical project from the minds of Rogga Johansson and Dave Ingram which are currently working on material for its full-length debut, to be released later this year via Cyclone Empire Records. Joining them are Rogga's fellow Paganizer and Ribspreader members, Dennis Blomberg and Brynjar Helgetun. More information will be released soon but the project's "musical style has been specified as crust-riddled punk with a definite death metal edge".
Black metallers Melechesh will be returning to North America this June for a headlining tour in support of their fifth studio album The Epigenesis. Support will come from Norway's Vreid and two bands from Los Angeles: Lightning Swords Of Death and Reign Of Lies. Brazilian group Eminence have revealed the artwork for their fourth full-length album, to be titled The Stalker, due to be released on August 2013.
