It's been 9 long years but now Deinonychus is back. Its reactivated Dutch protagonist, Marco Kehren, has set Ode To Acts Of Murder, Dystopia And Suicide as the title of the long-awaited new album. Marco entered Spacelab Studio in Grefrath, Germany with Christian Moos a few weeks ago to begin recordings for their 8th album, the band's first release since Warfare Machines released in 2007.
Dirty Shirt's brand of crossover folk metal will get a special treatment next year. The band is planning a tour with a complete traditional Romanian orchestra (named The National Folkloric Ensemble Transylvania) for next year. To counter the costs of such a grandiose project, the band has decided to crowdfund this project and stated that should they not achieve their goal, the tour stands, although with a smaller orchestra. In Flames are losing another long-time member. After drummer Daniel Svensson left last year, to be replaced by Joe Rickard, now is bassist Peter Iwers who departs to "pursue other endeavours". He's been in the band since 1997 and will leave after the band's U.S. tour dates with Hellyeah which will last until December.

Dream Theater just announced the development of a novel entitled The Astonishing to tell the broader and deeper story of The Astonishing album. Consisting of 34 tracks, the album is but one window into a world created by John Petrucci. The strengths of the novel form will allow for the expansion of storylines, new subplots, the addition of important characters, answers to story questions, as well as surprises and turns. The book is slated for release in the spring of 2017.
Swedish black metallers Shining will finally record a live album. This year, the band fronted by Niklas Kvarforth is celebrating their 20th anniversary and after years of failed attempts, they have decided to record a live album. The group will record all shows on their upcoming European tour with Taake and Slegest.

Iconic rockers KISS are returning to Europe in 2017 for some shows! The group announced a series of Arena shows across Europe in May 2017. So far, the band has confirmed shows in Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Czech Republic and the UK.
U.S. metallers Stone Sour will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their second album, Come What(ever) May from 2006, with a deluxe 10th Anniversary edition, which will be available on December 16th via digital download, streaming services, and 2 LP black and gold mixed vinyl. US blackened death metal act Ævangelist revealed today the title of their upcoming album due to be released in 2017 on their label Debemur Morti Productions. Death Created Time To Grow The Things That It Would Kill was the chosen name for the fifth full-length studio album. For now, any other additional details about an official tracklist or cover are yet to be unveiled. Be patient.
German power metallers Unisonic made two important announcements recently. The first is that drummer Kosta Zafiriou has left the band. Secondly, the band is going on hiatus, because Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen will reunite with Helloween for a world tour. After that, they promise to return and work on their third album.
