Hatesphere - New Album Details

The Great Bludgeoning, the new upcoming album of Danish death/thrash metal act Hatesphere will be released on September 21st in Spain, Finland and Sweden, on September 23rd in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux and Italy, on September 26th in the rest of Europe and on September 27th in the USA and Canada through Napalm Records.

The album is produced, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick Of It All, Moonspell, Dark Tranquillity) at the Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark. Cover artwork is done by Mircea Gabriel Eftemie, who has previously worked with Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad and Mnemic (where he also swings the guitar)... and also did the cover for Hatesphere's Ballet of the Brute.

Comments the band: "We have aimed the new album in a more old-school direction than its predecessor. With people this experienced joining the band it has been a very relaxed and enjoyable process to write the songs, and we have all agreed on the concept. More metal and everything that follows.

The cover, the title and the lyrics speaks for themselves. We are an angry-sounding metal band, and we have no intention of denying that. That's why the cover is more back-to-the-roots and the lyrics are again about aggressions, drinking and hate. The things that HateSphere has always been about. Expect brutality, melody and groove in just the right dose.

We have had one hell of a time writing and recording it, and we cant wait to present the album to all of you before long! Within a month or so, we will have the first song snippet and video ready for you - so keep your eyes and ears open."

The Great Bludgeoning tracklist:

01. The Killer
02. Venom
03. Smell Of Death
04. Decayer
05. The Wail Of My Threnode
06. Resurrect With A Vengeance
07. The Great Bludgeoning
08. Need To Kill
09. Devil In Your Own Hell

The Project Hate MCMXCIX - Working On New Album

Swedish industrial death metal band The Project Hate MCMXCIX are back in the studio, working on the follow-up to 2010's Bleeding The New Apocalypse (Cum Victriciis In Manibus Armis).

Frontman Lord K. Philipson comments: "Yes, after a few weeks of work the first tune for the next album is completed (meaning I will add tons and tons of small stuff as we go along, but the "real" work is done). I am not going to give away any details but there sure is some stuff in this one that you don't really expect when it comes to TPH, and that says quite a bit.

At the moment the inspiration is flowing endlessly and I have so much stuff to work into songs. Be sure you won't see any 3-minute hits this time either. More like a bunch of 10+ minutes hits, haha... Anyways, this will be a long process before we are ready to record the next masterpiece, but I thought it'd be nice to inform you about everything as we go along - no matter how long it takes.

Stay tuned for more Domination."

Hate Eternal - Entire New Album Streaming Online

Metal Blade Records press release

Hate Eternal's upcoming album Phoenix Amongst The Ashes (out May 10) is currently streaming in its entirety on Metal Sucks here. Be sure to check out the album while you can (comes down Monday May 9) and leave a comment.

Founder, vocalist and guitarist Erik Rutan comments: "Phoenix Amongst The Ashes is an album that we did everything possible to create a death metal classic that would stand out amongst all of our releases as an album that not only carries the traditional Hate Eternal sound, but expands the boundaries of what is possible within the confines of extreme death metal. I feel that this album truly represents a band that overtime has matured into creating our most dynamic and intense album yet. At times fast and extreme, at times, heavy, atmospheric, evil and melodic with the darkest of overtones. I truly feel this is one of my finest moments in my career and a defining moment for Hate Eternal. If you are a death metal fan, you should give it a listen, you won't be disappointed!"

Hate Eternal recorded their fifth studio album, Phoenix Amongst The Ashes, at frontman Erik Rutan's own Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL with mastering handled by Alan Douches of West West Side. J.J. Hrubovcak has been added as the band's bassist, alongside the devastating combo of Erik Rutan on guitar and Jade Simonetto on drums.

Hatesphere - To Enter The Studio In June

Danish metallers Hatesphere have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"We have booked the Antfarm Studio, Aarhus, Denmark, from June 13th in order to make you a new album! Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick Of It All) will be guiding us through it, hopefully without getting too many grey hairs! Tue has been working with us on four of our releases - and we look forward to doing it once again!!
A little funny anecdote: Tue actually produced our second demo Disconnected '97 back in 1997 as one of his first productions... and this was an actual demo tape! Those were the days."

The Project Hate MCMXCIX - New Song Available

"Summoning Majestic War", the first single off the new The Project Hate MCMXCIX album Bleeding The New Apocalypse is available for free download at this location (.mp3).

Bleeding The New Apocalypse will be released on February 14th, 2011 via Season Of Mist. More album details are available here.

Frontman Lord K. Philipson comments: "Why have we chosen this particular track to be your first glimpse of the new album? No reason really, we could have chosen any of them since they all absolutely dominate. We just thought it'd be nice to have Leif Edling somewhat introduce you to what we have created this time around. Yeah, Candlemass bassist/everyday legend Leif Edling contributes some spoken words in this track. You can all start applauding now. But not only that. In this tune you'll also get some insanely nice vocals from Christian Älvestam (ex-Scar Symmetry) (who also sang a line or two on our last album).

So, that's a lot of bonus stuff for ya apart from the simple fact that "Summoning Majestic War" is a goddamn phenomenal symphony that represents TPH in every shape, way and form. If you survive these 12+ minutes of pure excellence, pray you'll survive the remaining five tracks on Bleeding The New Apocalypse as well. It will not be an easy task. Domination is a fierce beast. Our work is done - now it's your turn to purchase the album and help us ship a few copies so we will be able to record another masterpiece with a great label such as SOM backing us up.

If you consider yourself a fan of music in general and TPH in particular, and do not absolutely love what we have created in this song, as well as the whole album - you are apparently deaf."
