The 11th Hour - Tap Officium Triste Vocalist For New Album

Pim Blankenstein of Dutch death doom metallers Officium Triste will be stepping in to record vocals for the upcoming The 11th Hour album.

Mainman Ed Warby has released the following statement on the matter: "Good and bad news. As custom dictates the bad first: Rogga Johansson (Bone Gnawer, Demiurg) will not be appearing on the upcoming 11th Hour album due to an illness that just won't subside. I've waited as long as I could for him to get better and he made a valiant effort to record his vocals but it's not up to his usual standard and time is running out.

Which brings us to the good news: Pim Blankenstein of Dutch doom veterans Officium Triste will be stepping in with his massive roar. As most of you know he's been performing live with The 11th Hour since the first show and I'm sure he'll prove a more than suitable replacement."

Officium Triste - New Album On The Way

Dutch death doom metal band Officium Triste are working on a new album, tentatively titled Mors Viri.

The band states in a lengthy update: "We have finished writing this album and recordings will start in April in the studio of our keyboard-player Martin in Germany. We have written six songs with an additional intermezzo and an acoustic track. Some of the song titles are: "To The Gallows", "Burning All Boats And Bridges", "Your Fall From Grace", "The Wounded And The Dying", "Your Heaven Is My Underworld" and "One With The Sea (Part 2)". These might change though. The title for the new album will most probably be Mors Viri.

We have fulfilled our contractual obligations with Displeased Records, so we are currently unsigned. We will record the album and shop it around when it is done and we're positive one or even more labels will be interested.

Next to the recordings we have some great gigs lined up for you, so you can catch us on stage again in 2011.

Next to that we can already mention that we came to an agreement with Spanish label Memento Mori to record some exclusive tracks for a split album with our German friends Ophis. This one should see the light of day in the fall of 2011.

In additional news we can mention that Ed Warby has started recording the second full-length of The 11th Hour. As you might know Bram and Pim are part of the live band and can be seen live on stage with The 11th Hour on a couple occasions.

Pim was also asked by AJ of Beyond Belief and Seth of Severe Torture to provide vocals to their new project called Extreme Cold Winter, so keep an eye out for that one too!"

Officium Triste - Update From The Band

Dutch Death Doom metal band Officium Triste were so kind to post the following news:

"2010 is already 3 months on its way so it is about time to let you all know what's going on with Officium Triste. We've got some bad news and some more exciting news. Let's start with the bad news. We had to part ways with drummer Ronald Lagerwaard. Ronald simply couldn't commit to the plans we have concerning Officium Triste's future. Because of this we had to make a difficult decision as we really appreciated Ronald as a person and as a skilled drummer. As a band we do want to perform live on a regular basis and that simply wasn't possible due to logistics and personal affairs. We like to thank Ronald for his time in Officium Triste.

In the meantime we have found a replacement. After some serious brainstorming who would be an ideal drummer we decided to ask Niels Jordaan who in the past pounded the drums for the now defunct band In Age And Sadness. Since we shared the stage with In Age And Sadness several times in the past we knew Niels would be a good replacement. Niels gladly accepted our offer and we are currently rehearsing material with Niels.

Next to the news about out change in the line-up we are working very hard on material for our new, 5th, full-length album. Right now we have plenty of ideas for 6 to 7 new songs and it's coming along nicely. We hope to finish the album before the summer and have it released this fall. This will be our last album under the current contract with Displeased Records.

At this moment we are also negotiating a couple of festival appearances later this year. More news about those performances is expected soon."

Officium Triste - Line Up Change

Once again we can inform you about a change within Officium Triste's line up. After much thought Martin has decided to quit drumming and start focusing on the synth-parts. As one of the main composers he has always had a big influence on the music and especially the synths. So, from now on he'll be doing the synths and he keeps on writing music. His decision has a lot to do with the fact he's living in Germany and he feels he cannot deliver what is needed for the band when talking about rehearsing and doing live gigs. Therefore, Martin has decided to switch to synths exclusively. This will give the band much more opportunities and we're happy to see Martin in this setting.

We are also very happy to announce that all drum duties will be taken over by Ronald Lagerwaard (ex- Imbolc, Absent Mind, Perpetual Misery) from now on. He has proven to be a great drummer and is very motivated to be part of the the tight rhythm section for Officium Triste.
