21:58 - yvesson Hej, okej, just checked my collection and there are three 2001 albums, but most of them dissapointment which probably made me stop buy albums.
21:56 - yvesson Hej, can't believe it, you're talking about rap in here ? I'm still stuck with my old metal CDs, the most recent must be from 1999 or something. :p
21:38 - Apothecary Like this. The beginning is fantastic, but then he just busts into the TELL ME WHO THE BITCH NIGGA HATING ON MEEEE shit afterwards and it just ruins it. Not for me [link]
21:36 - Apothecary I'm not too big a fan of Kendrick either. He is not a BAD rapper, but I feel as though when he tries to come along with the social commentary, it just kind of falls flat by him turning around and then going gangsta gangsta
21:19 - Nimlot I still don't get the hype around Kendrick, but I can't pretend any type of expertise to judge.
21:09 - 3rdWorld The Hot head track has been out for a few months now I guess. And it just as razor sharp as DG has ever been in their career. Also Kendrick Lamar is the recent rapper who blew me away & his last 2 albums were mindblowingly epic.
20:00 - Apothecary This is the track that basically convinced me that Aesop is a lyrical genius. Just look at that second verse [link]

The album was produced by Fredrik Nordström at Fredman Studio, who made the following comment: "With this album Arkan excel in their art of mixing metal and Arabic music. The result is close to a masterpiece and these guys are its amazing conductors."
"Arabic music brings endless inspiration and with Salam we are only beginning", the band adds.
The show of Israeli metal band Orphaned Land at Sonisphere Istanbul had to be cancelled due to the ongoing crisis between Turkey and Israel after the Gaza flotilla raid. The band has posted the following statement on the official website:
"Merhaba, shalom & salam to all our beloved fans & friends.
2 weeks ago, we were the happiest band on earth when we were announced to Sonisphere Istanbul, we all waited for this moment for so long.
Then, a political fucked up crisis started between our countries and a whole chaos started to go on and unfortunately still goes on till that moments.
After a few days of rumors we were sadly announced today that the security company who is responsible of the festival cannot guarantee our safety during the fest and therefore our show had to be delayed from this year…
The metal webzine from Israel, Metalist Magazine http://metalist.co.il, gives the opportunity to listen to one of the first songs of the upcoming Orphaned Land long awaited album The Never Ending Way Of OrWarriOR.
This song called "Sapari" is, like "Nora El Nora" (featured on Mabool), a cover of a traditional song and doesn't really represent the musical orientation of the album...
...but If you cannot wait anymore time to listen to the song, just follow this link http://metalist.co.il/NewsPrivate.asp?id=2847 and enjoy!
UPDATED, on 22.12.2009 (thanks to Forsaker)

On January 25th, 2010 the time of wait is finally over! Israel's Orphaned Land will finally release their highly anticipated fourth studio opus The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR in Europe (January 27th in Japan and February 9th in the US). Mixed by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Opeth), who is also responsible for several keyboard parts on the new album, The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR turns out to be a sophisticated concept album taking Orphaned Land's unique brand of exotic, heavy music to soaring new heights in terms of complexity and catchiness. It is an audible manifest that the time has come for Middle Eastern metal to take over!
The band posted this piece of news on their myspace blog:
"Israel's progressive folk metal masters Orphaned Land are currently recording the highly anticipated follow-up to 2004's "Mabool", and vocalist Kobi Farhi states:
"Hello there to all the Orphaned warriors of light - we are very happy that we finally entered the studio to deliver you the long awaited concept album - "ORwarriOR"! The album is going to be more than 70 minutes long and as usual many traditional instruments and languages will be involved in the process. In my opinion this is the best Orphaned Land album ever! We can't wait for you to put your hands on it and we look forward to tour and meet you all on the road! Your Orphaned brother - Kobi."
Kobi Farhi, vocalist of Israel's Orphaned Land has posted the following statement regarding the status of the band's highly anticipated follow-up to 2004's much celebrated "Mabool" album as well as their participation in the upcoming new documentary by Sam Dunn ("Metal: A Headbanger's Journey") "Global Metal":
"Hello to all the orphans out there! We are happy to inform you that the writing process of our long awaited album "The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR" is about to end soon, we have more than 90 minutes of written music. We don't like to repeat ourselves, so do not expect a "Mabool Vol. 2"! Of course, the female vocals and the oriental instruments will be there as always, but "ORwarriOR" is different and I can say for sure that it is more extreme, powerful and less progressive. Still, like all our albums, it is Orphaned Land and you'll all notice that. Watch out for the first single, which is the opener of the album called: "Sapari"!
Israeli metal band Orphaned Land have parted ways with drummer Avi Diamond. The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"If there's a lesson to be taken from nature's seasons, it is that everything is dynamic around us, and it's nature's way to remind us that we need to freshen up and move on from time to time.
"After several years filled with challenges and hard work, we've utilized our work with Avi Diamond.
"During this period we've recorded the album "Mabool", toured the globe, headlined festivals and dozens of events worldwide. We've put the Israeli metal scene into the spot-lights, and created precedents in the metal world as a whole, and in the Israeli metal history in particular.
Orphaned Land, Primordial and Naer Mataron have been confirmed for the Metal Healing Festival, set to take place July 20-22 in Greece. The Metal Healing Fest billing is now as follows (alphabetical order):
