On 15 April Greek extreme metal masters Rotting Christ kick off the first part of their massive European tour promoting band's brand new album entitled Aealo. The first part of the promotional campaign will take place in Poland, where the band is going to play nearly two weeks tournee. During the tour Rotting Christ will be supported by reformed Polish death metal beast Lost Soul. Rotting Christ will tour the rest of Europe afterwards, as direct support to Bolt Thrower.
Commented by the band: "We are honored as a band that we are back in the land that has been supporting our horde since our first steps and we promise to our Polish metal brothers that we will spit our guts on the stage and you will attend the most Rotting Christ show ever."
Set for a February 15th release, Rotting Christ's upcoming album is entitled Aealo, correlatively with the band's will to delve deeper than ever before into their Greek roots.
Frontman Sakis explains: "Aealo is the transcription of the ancient Greek word ΕΑΛΩ into the Latin alphabet. It means thrashing, catastrophe or destruction and reflects the musical and lyrical content of the album. The concept of Aealo deals with the feelings of a warrior during a battle, therefore the album's title bears this sense of anger, fear and grief."
The CD was recorded at Lunatach Studios in Katerini, Greece and will feature guest appearances by Greek-American vocalist Diamanda Galas and Primordial frontman Alan A. Nemtheanga.
Greek melodic black metal band Rotting Christ has revealed that they will be entering the studio soon to record their next album. A statement from the band reads as follows:
"New songs composing process has almost been completed and the band is ready to enter the studio for the recording sessions of its upcoming album that will follow up the very successful latest band's album Theogonia.
Sakis will take care of the production again and as being the main composer too he declares that he had his most tripy and exhausted simultaneously experience on his career squeezing his mind drowing down ideas that will follow up the band's latest album Theogonia and the end of the process find him as well as the whole band totally convicted that they finally managed it.
