US black/thrash metallers Skeletonwitch have posted another track on their official website, entitled "'Reduced To The Failure Of Prayer'", off of their upcoming new album Forever Abomination, which is due out in October 7th via Prosthetic Records. Forever Abomination will be their fourth full release and was produced by Grammy-winner Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed).
Information about their upcoming album was previously reported over here.
Detroit's melodic death metal outfit The Black Dahlia Murder have announced a mammoth 26-date UK/France tour, which kicks off with two shows at The Underworld in London on January 11th and 12th, 2012. Support comes from American thrashers Skeletonwitch.
"The Infernal Resurrection", a brand-new track by US black/thrash metallers Skeletonwitch can now be streamed on the band's official album page, Forever Abomination. The cover artwork can be seen at the same location.
The album - Skeletonwitch's first with new drummer Dustin Boltjes (Demiricous) - will be issued in three formats: digital download; a six-panel, plastic-free digipak; and a triple-gatefold LP (which in turn will be available in several color variants).
Arch Enemy has announced its return to North America via a headlining run on the MetalSucks and Full Metal Jackie Present: North American Khaos 2011 tour, set to kick off in September. The North American leg of Arch Enemy's world tour will kick off in Baltimore on September 8th, and features an all-star cast of Devildriver, Skeletonwitch and Chthonic in support.
Said vocalist Angela Gossow: "We pledge to the United States of America and its beautiful neighbor Canada that we will only bring the utmost heavy metal 'Khaos' to your shores! We can't wait to kick off this tour come September. After all the European summer festivals, we are ready to fire!"
Added guitarist Michael Amott: "We are very happy to be coming back to the US and Canada hot on the heels of our new Khaos Legions opus! We're working on a special set list and some other surprises. We chose the other bands on the bill because they are all killer, and bring their own terrifying brand of brutal steel! Yes, good times lie ahead for the metal connoisseur of North America!"
Skeletonwitch entered a Los Angeles studio yesterday (Wednesday June 1st) with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Machine Head, Kreator) to begin recording the follow up to 2009's Breathing The Fire.
The as-yet-untitled album, expected to be released this fall, features the track "The Infernal Resurrection," the demo version of which appears as the B-side on the soon-to-be-released final 7-inch of a limited-edition vinyl trilogy. This will mark the first recording with their new drummer, former Demiricous skin-pounder Dustin Boltjes.
Skeletonwitch have tapped drummer Tony Laureano for their upcoming spring dates and to play on their upcoming as-yet-untitled new album, due out this fall.
Laureano, who's played for acts such as 1349, Nile, Dimmu Borgir, Massacre, Angelcorpse and more, will be replacing the recently departed, Derrick "Mullet Chad" Nau, who is returning to art school and further pursuing his art career.
Guitarist Scott Hedrick commented: "Our good friend Tony will be playing drums on our April tour, new album, and for the foreseeable future. We're fucking stoked to have a drummer of his caliber and experience on board. He's a beast behind the kit and a great fucking guy as well. You can't ask for more than that!
Skeletonwitch just finished touring with Job For A Cowboy and Misery Index. Guitarist Scott Hedrick wrapped it up as follows:
"A huge thank you to the bands, the fans, and everyone else involved in the tour - except that one promoter; fuck you, dude! Kidding! Anyway, we had a fucking blast as usual. It's hard not to when you're traveling around the country with your best friends and your job is to party and shred.
When we wake up from the impending holiday blackout, we'll be devoting all of our time finishing the next record. So keep an eye out: as the writing process continues, we'll probably book a few dates and debut some new material. Thanks to everyone who supported us in 2010. It's been a great year!"
On the heels of their show-stealing performances last month on Ozzfest's second stage, Ohio's Skeletonwitch have announced a fall headlining tour. The North American Skullsplitter Tour 2010 will see the blackened-thrash animals supported by labelmates Withered and Landmine Marathon.
Skeletonwitch's Scott Hedrick commented: "We live for the road, so after six weeks of writing the next record, it's going to be great to get back on the stage, basement floor, your mother's house... whatever! Perhaps we'll break out some new tunes. We'll definitely break out some beers! It's also killer to tour with two other Prosthetic bands. Keeping it in the family!"
Spanish thrashers Angelus Apatrida are about to release Clockwork (click here for the details), which goes on sale next Tuesday 22 June.
