Vanishing Point - Bassist Steve Cox Announces Departure

Vanishing Point bassist Steve Cox has posted the following message on the official Vanishing Point forum, announcing his departure from the band:

"Hey guys... just thought I'd put a post up letting you know that I've left VP. It's nothing personal (or even musical) but just what's best for the band. I've been in VP for a year now and a lotta stuff has happened in my personal life which has required me to remove myself from the band. I've loved being a part of VP, and I will continue to be a fan - you will see me up the front at all their shows! - but I'm pleased to hand the bass duties over to my good friend Adrian Alimic... who is an absolute monster of a bass player. Wait til you see this guy!

Chris, Silvio, Tom, Jack and Lennard are like brothers to me and I hold them all in such high esteem, it's been a great experience for me, and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

I truly believe that the next Vanishing Point album will be their best, just wait til you hear it!"

Vanishing Point are currently recording their follow-up album to Embrace The Silence which is expected to be released in early 2007.

Vanishing Point - Part Ways With Drummer

Australian Power/Progressive Metal band Vanishing Point have regretfully annouced the parting with drummer Jack Lukic. Lukic and his wife are soon to be expecting twins, so the drummer's priorities are now more about family than music. This Saturday night on the 9th December will be the band's show with Gamma Ray. It will be Lukic's last performance with Vanishing Point.

Here is a posting by Lukic:

"Hi everyone this is Jack here, drummer from Vanishing Point. I wish to inform you all that after 16 great years with Vanishing Point, it has now come to the time for me to call it the day. All my goals I believe have been fulfilled as a musician, recording three albums, European tours and film clips to name a few. After just getting married and my wife now expecting twins, my focus is now more on family rather than music. I will still remain to be close to the band and will help them when in need. I have also recorded the drums to the follow up album "Embrace the Silence" which the title is yet to be named. We all still remain close friends and I wish all the success they thoroughly deserve in the upcoming future. Please be assured that Vanishing Point still are as strong as ever before which will be proven with the release of the new album sometime next year.

I wish Tommy, Silvio, Chris and Steve all the best with the release of the new album and the future.
To all the fans of Vanishing Point, I thank you all for your support throughout the years and I hope I have not disappointed you in anyway. Now it's time to move on to the next chapter in my life, teaching my children to become the next generation of headbangers.
Thank you all,
Jack Lukic"

Vanishing Point - New Album On The Way

Vanishing Point have announced that a new album will be recorded soon. The band has been writing material for the album, and they've said that they will be hitting the studio in September to start recording it. They will be using Palm Studio for the recording.

Here is a statement by the band taken off their official website:

"We are currently busy writing and preparing ourselves for our fourth album for Dockyard 1, we are booked to go back into the recording studio in September with Endel Rivers at Palm Studio's (Black Majesty, The Eternal and many others) and things are going really well, what can we say about the new material so far? It's probably the heaviest music that we have come up with in some parts within the Vanishing Point style, we still have the melodic edge, symphonic arrangements and thought provoking lyrics as usual that you would expect on a Vanishing Point album, we are very excited about the new material and we hope that you guys stick around for the next album!

Oh yeah, this time the album will not take years to complete, we want to have it ready for early next year and yes as many people are asking the songs will be shorter, at least the majority of them will be."

Vanishing Point - Announce New Bassist

After searching for nearly two months, Australian Prog Metallers Vanishing Point have finally announced Steve Cox as replacement for their former bassist Joe Del Mastro. The following message has been posted at the band's official website:

"Hello to all our fans and our good friends in the media. We would like to announce officially that Vanishing Point has found a new bassist. It has been a very hard and reluctant task in finding a replacement for Joe. With over a dozen applicants stretching as far as Europe and abroad we didn't have to look further than our own back yard.

After going through several weeks of auditioning it is with great pleasure to welcome Steve Cox to his new position as our new bass player. Steve has fitted in with his new role quite nicely with his great sense of humour and professionalism towards VP is most welcom. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who did try out but who were unfortunately unsuccessful. We wish all the very best for your future and know in what ever you chose to do you will be successful."

Vanishing Point - Bassist Leaves The Band

Message from Joe Del Mastro:

Hi Everyone.

I am writing to let you all know that I am leaving Vanishing Point. My reasons are personal and it was a decision that I needed to make. Lately I've noticed my life going in a different direction. I felt a lack of passion and drive that I once felt for the band. Vanishing Point needs a member who shares the same vision and future goals. I felt it was the best thing to do for myself but more importantly for the future of Vanishing
Point. It was one of the biggest and hardest decisions that I've ever had to make.

Vanishing Point has been one of the best experiences of my life. It was a childhood dream of mine to be in a band just like Vanishing Point. I have the utmost respect for Tommy, Jack, Silvio and Chris and I wish them all the best for the future. I thank you all for the great times and the opportunity to create and play great music with you. You are friends for life.

I'd like to thank all the fans and people I've met through the band. A special thanks to all my friends and family for their support. A big thanks to everyone who has helped me throughout this wonderful journey.

Cheers, Joe Del Mastro

Vanishing Point - New album title change and more

Greetings Earthlings!!!

This is just a small update to let you know that we have officially changed the title of our new album to "Embrace The Silence." We are currently speaking to labels about the release of the new album and we are hopeful that if all goes correctly then it will be out early in 2005. We sincerely appologize for the delay, but the matters for the delay have been out of our hands.

Silvio has been ill once again and he has been in and out of hospital over three times in the last week and a half, we have seen Silvio and he is slowly doing ok, we dont know what to say at this point in time and when Silv is better we will let you all know. We thank everyone for their kind wishes to Silv.

Our web site is going to be re-vamped in hopefully not too long, our supreme webmaster David Griffiths has been hard at work on it and we are happy with the results. A question many people from all around the world have been asking is "will you guys ever get your arses into gear and get your merchandise online?" Well the good news there is that we will have our existing merchandise (shirts and CDs) available soon!

Anyways thats it for now, we once again appologise for the delay and sincerely thank you for your patience,

Kindest regards,
Vanishing Point.
