Yob have been relatively quiet since they released their last album Atma. Now they share something that isn't exactly new. Instead, the doom metal band is streaming a re-mastered track, "Aeons", taken from their forthcoming Catharsis re-issue. Catharsis is the band's second album and was originally released ten years ago. So, it is the perfect opportunity to repackage, remaster, and reissue the out-of-print and hard to obtain album for its tenth anniversary. Don't be intimidated by the 18 minutes of the track. Atma, the upcoming new album of Oregon doom trio Yob will be released on August 16th in North America and on August 22nd in the UK through Profound Lore Records.

One of the new tracks, called "Prepare The Ground", has been made available for streaming over at Stereogum.

The follow-up to 2009's The Great Cessation is described in a press release as "dirtier and sludgier than ever before."

Atma features guest appearances by Neurosis frontman Scott Kelly on the tracks "Before We Dreamed Of Two" and "Adrift In The Ocean".

"Broken Hero", a brand new song from New Mexico metallers Kryoburn, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The video for the song is also going to be out soon.

The track comes off the group's upcoming sophomore album, Three Years Eclipsed. A release date for the album should be announced in the coming weeks. The album was produced by vocalist/guitarist Todd Brashear and Kryoburn at the KryoLab in Carlsbad and was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Halford, The Haunted, Mnemic, Sick Of It All, August Burns Red) at Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark.
