04:46 - Guib @deadone: I much prefer Unquestionable Presence.
04:33 - deadone I would rather take Atheist over Death. Piece of Time is riff heaven.
03:13 - LeKiwi Not everyone loves death metal, Marcel ;) I, for one, would take Death's proggier era over their death metal one any day.
03:12 - ScreamingSteelUS SBG was actually one of my first death metal albums. I bought it before I really had a tolerance for dm, much less a taste for it, so for a long time I thought very little of it. I had to revisit it after I had an ear for it.
03:04 - Guib Personally I love both the early and late material from the band.
Mikko Laine, the 30-year-old guitarist of the Finnish progressive metal band Sole Remedy was killed in a traffic accident on October 2nd in the Dutch municipality of Baarlo — just hours after the band's performance at the ProgPower Europe festival. Here it is the official statement from the band: "Rest in peace Mikko 1981-2011. Mikko has died in a terrible accident while on tour at Netherlands."
Turisas has just announced a row of shows in Spain and Portugal in support of their latest album Stand Up And Fight.
This is the first time Turisas does a proper headline tour in the region. An excited Warlord Nygård comments: "We've always had a very strong support on the Iberian peninsula and we're of course extremely happy about that. Over the years we've often been over there as part of a support act, but we felt we owed our fans in Spain & Portugal some proper headline shows for a change.
We've been trying to make this happen for ages, but it's taken time. So now we're definitely coming, make you turn up and show your support! I'm sure we'll have some amazing shows happening! We think this trip will prove that bands could do so much more on the Iberian peninsula, if they had the courage to just go a bit further and explore it. We are super excited about it! Let's paint Iberia black and red together!"
