US alternative metallers Drowning Pool announced today that they will be parting ways with their current singer, Ryan McCombs. The hard working Texas band, who has worked with 3 singers in their 10 year career, issued the following statement: "We have always been a band who has gained success despite having multiple singers... maybe we suffer from reverse 'lead singer's disease," said C.J. Pierce.
Cattle Decapitation vocalist Travis Ryan has recently recorded vocals for the new Soulfly album due early 2012 on Roadrunner Records. Travis recorded his portion of the vocals at Frick'in Studios in San Marcos, CA, with engineer Dan Frick and the result was extremely positive.
Metallica will headline the 10th installment of the Download festival at Donington Park on Saturday, June 9th, 2012, with an exclusive U.K. performance of the band's album Metallica. It will be the eighth time the California metal titans will have played at Donington during their three-decade-long career, having previously performed at both Monsters Of Rock and Download festivals.
The band announced it on their official website: "And our first announcement brings us to the most hallowed of rock grounds, Donington Park, for our return to the Download Festival. The three day festival runs from June 8-10 and we take the stage right smack in the middle of it on Saturday, June 9, 2012."
Roadrunner Records announced today the addition of French metal behemoths Gojira to the label. The band is universally recognized as one of the most talented and extreme art-metal acts on the scene today. Gojira is one of those rare bands that comes along every couple of years and takes everything you know about metal, twists it, reimagines it and comes up with something wholly unique. It's doubtful you've heard anything like Gojira before. The band makes that much of an impact with its music and approach.
Finnish symphonic metallers Nightwish have just released another teaser for the band's highly anticipated new album Imaginaerum, which is going to be released on November 30th in Finland and on December 2nd in Europe. After announcing a change in vocalists, UK progressive metallers Tesseract entered the studio to record the revamped version of "Eden" featuring the new vocals and a more developed instrumentation. The band then went directly into shooting a music video for the single, which was premiered earlier this week and can be seen here. Now you can download the song for free at this location.
On January 17th, 2012, Metal Blade will re-issue the three Bolt Thrower albums Mercenary, Honour - Valour - Pride and Those Once Loyal on vinyl. Metal Blade Records Europe released their versions on October 21st/24th, and they can be ordered now at this location.

Akercocke drummer David Gray has joined forces with other band members Peter Benjamin and Sam Loynes (also of Diminished Fifth) in a new black metal project called Voices.
The band commented: "We recently set foot in studio to record drums for the first full-length Voices release and there is going to be no let-up and we hope to complete the album before the end of the year. Also we shot a music video for a version of one of the tracks featuring on the album and is due for its imminent release."
According to a recent interview that you can read at this location, Kreator's frontman Mille Petrozza has revealed that the band will be entering the studio in January to record the new album and that Jens Bogren will be in charge of pre-production.
