Amon Amarth - Complete Recording New Album

Amon Amarrth have posted the following update on their official website:

"This weekend we are off to that magical island called the UK for a show at legendary Donington Park and the Download Festival. It's sure to be a full weekend of mayhem - and then some - as we're also doing an appearance on the Metal Hammer Awards after party before we return to Stockholm on Tuesday.

In other news we are completely finished with the recording of the new album and Jens (Bogren - producer) has started the mixing process. If everything goes to plan, the mixing will be done by the end of next week and we are confident that this will be a killer album."

Songtitles to be included on the album are "Guardians Of Asgaard", "Live For The Kill" and "Tattered Banners And Bloody Flags".

Lacuna Coil - Working On New Album

Lacuna Coil's male singer Andrea Ferro has issued the following update:

"I've been very busy with the works on the new Lacuna Coil album that has started taking shape. We feel like we're on the right creative mood but we still wanna write a lot more material before we call it done."

UK rock magazine Kerrang! recently spoke to Lacuna Coil frontwoman Cristina Scabbia about the group's forthcoming CD.

It's still early days for the follow-up to 2006's "Karmacode", with the band still piecing the songs together and seeking the right producer. But the sound, according to Scabbia, will "leave you with your mouths open. We want to experiment, we want to try something completely different, something that will rock your faces more than ever while still being Lacuna Coil."

The as-yet-untitled album is due for release in September 2008.

Darkthrone - New Album Title Revealed

Darkthrone's Nocturno Culto has posted the following message on his official myspace page regarding the band's new album:

"After some months with making riffs, recording, working, planning and generally having a blast, I suddenly remembered there's something called MySpace. Yeah, we have recorded four songs for the next album 'Dark Thrones And Black Flags', we sort of tried to keep the title 'hidden', but my mouth ran over talking to Metal Hammer (damn!!!), so anyway, that's the title, and NO, it's not punkish you bastards, it's METAL TO THE BONE!!! I tell ya, what we allow ourselves to do these days....riff wise I mean. IT'S A BLOODY FEAST!!!! The plan is to have the final recordings ready in July at latest. I know I know, this album comes fast, but not to worry, we'll use just a tad more time on the album after that."

Metallica - New Album Bumped Back To September

Stereo Warning has posted this report:

"The release of Metallica's new album has been delayed again, sources from the band's record label told Stereo Warning. The album is now expected to hit the stores in September. Originally Lars Ulrich said it would be out in February, then the release was delayed till April. With the band still in the studio, it was clear that April was not gonna happen. Fans can take comfort in the fact that the last time the band spent this much time in the studio the year was 1991 and the result was the "Black Album". One can only hope for similar results this time! In the meantime, the boys have lined up a few dates for their upcoming European tour this summer."

Kreator - Upcoming Album And DVD Details

Following their truly global "Enemy Of God" World Tour, Thrash gods Kreator will be parking the steamrollers for a while and taking a creative break in 2008 to concentrate on writing new material and recording their next album. Live activity for the band in 2008 will only be sporadic, consisting primarily of selected festival appearances. Kreator's next album is currently scheduled for release in January of 2009, to be followed by an extensive world tour later in the year.

To make the long wait a little less painful for Kreator fans, March of 2008 sees the re-release on DVD of "Live In East Berlin" and "Hallucinative Comas", both re-edited and previously only available on VHS video cassette. The DVD release goes out under the title "At The Pulse Of Kapitulation - Live In East Berlin 1990".

Here are a few of frontman Mille Petrozza's comments:

"Right now, it's time for us to recharge our batteries and write some new songs. A little like the creature in 'Alien', several ideas for the next album have been brooding inside me for a while and now they're ready to burst out of my chest and take the Kreator story to the next level. Musically, the whole concept will be very brutal and melodic! At the moment there are 10 basic ideas and fragments for new songs. Starting in January of 2008, the band will get together in Essen to start working out arrangements for the new stuff.

Over the years, I've met lots of people in and around Berlin who's first Metal experience ever was the concert we did there in the early 90's at the Werner Seelenbinder Halle. The new DVD features some of these people in recent interviews, and there are also some original quotes from back then. Words don't do justice to the energy that was in the air that day in East Berlin, and the whole event can only be described as utterly unique and historic.

I'd like to say 'Thanks!' at this point to all the promoters and fans who made it possible! The legion of Kreator supporters is growing all the time, and you made 2007 a very exciting year for us in the band."

Up until now this legendary concert was only available as a VHS video with less-than-ideal sound quality, but is now for the first time carefully digitalized and upgraded to today's standards, while retaining its original charm. The DVD also contains the "Hallucinative Coma" video from 1991. Original director Andreas Marshall has personally re-edited his own 'Director's Cut', featuring never-seen-before scenes that the censors just couldn't stomach back in the day.
