07:20 - Apothecary In other news, this album is so addictive it should be a Schedule I drug [link]
07:12 - theFIST wormed are at willowtip, they toured with those 2
06:35 - Apothecary We'll just have to agree to disagree then, as much as I love both bands, I still consider Zeppelin and Deep Purple hard rock at the very most
06:34 - flightoficarus Big sale at Willowtip. Best band there besides Ulcerate and Gigan?
06:33 - Apothecary Doom/stoner/sludge has its roots in Sabbath, and power and speed/thrash in Priest. I'd say everything else was just bands taking those categories and then building upon them to create new ones
06:30 - deadone That doesn't preclude Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin being pioneers in heavy metal and as such considered part of the genre, even though they happily sit outside it sometimes.
According to the official website, Disarmonia Mundi are working on a new album. The following statement was posted there:
"Just a quick reminder for all of you: we are actually workin' on the new stuff so the year 2008 will finally see the release of a new album!
Some new titles are: Structural Wound, The Shape Of Things To Come, Ties That Bind and The Isolation Game...
According to the official Pestilence fansite, Pestilence are back. The message was already posted on 12 January and reads as follows:
"I have for you the best news you can even imagine... PESTILENCE IS BACK!!! There is new line up: founder Patrick Mameli (vocals, guitar) C-187], well known Tony Choy (bass) Atheist, Cynic, C-187] and drummer Peter Wildoer Darkane, Non-Human Level and others]. Patrick is working on new great songs which style he describes as modern fusion of "Testimony..." and "Spheres", but even more technical (!!!) and more brutal. New album will be recorded by Jacob Hansen and produced by Patrick himself. As you see we all have a reason to live!"
Insomnium will play one more show (5.1.2008) in Finland together with Omnium Gatherum. This show will take place in their hometown Joensuu (Karjalantalo). After this concert, Insomnium will start to write material for their new album. Here it is the statement:
"Last show in Finland before entering writing mode: Insomnium will play one more show in Finland 5.1.2008 in our hometown Joensuu (Karjalantalo) with our labelmates Omnium Gatherum. After this we will put all our energy and time to write and rehearse the follow-up album to "Above the Weeping World"."
Insomnium will start a European together with Amorphis and Swallow The Sun tomorrow. Check out the the tour dates at this location.
"Yes, it's true... At The Gates will reunite for some shows next summer."
So says the message left on the band's official website. Guitarist Anders has also commented regarding the reunion:
"Well, it felt like the timing was right for once. We have been talking about a possible reunion for years now, but this was the first time everything fell into place. For me personally, it feels like getting closure. The break-up over ten years ago was abrupt and left a bad vibe between us that took years to get over. We have a better relationship today and a more relaxed approach to who we are and what we do. The time is right to get together and play some shows. Try to catch us live in the summer 2008. It could be your last chance."
