23:05 - Erik M. None of the songs on PC come close to this brilliance: [link] Best song hand down from Damnation.
23:03 - Opethian @Erick M, Yes. It has that vibe that i actual want to listen to and wish that there was more ;)
23:01 - Erik M. Actually now that I listen to Faith in Others again, I just realized it actually has a Damnation vibe going on... am I right?
22:59 - Erik M. Ilham, that's just because of Pale Communion. Before that, Opeth almost never got mentioned here. ;) Opethian, true enough! Definitely what I think as well. If he doesn't care about that, then he's an arrogant bastard.
22:56 - Opethian If i could say something to Mikael, "I hope that this shift in sound and retro style has made you a happy person, because you have lost a lot of fans over it"
22:56 - Ilham I should make a list of the days I haven't seen Opeth mentioned in the shoutbox. It would be a short list.

Alestorm drummer Ian Wilson bailed out his band... again. Here is Wilson's final statement:
"So aye, I quit Alestorm earlier this week because I'd basically just had enough of all the bullshit that goes with being in that band. I'm not going to divulge much information because I'm totally done with it. But I will say that for me I had nothing more to give to the band and had no time left for some of the people in Alestorm. So that was what my final decision was based on.
The positive from this is I can now focus all my attention on music I want to play! I've been writing material for my new band The Bloodless which I've formed with some old band mates from Catharist, and I've also been able to recruit my boy Pat Henry (Swashbuckle) on vocals which I'm excited about. We're playing some old school death metal inspired by shit like Hypocrisy, Entombed and Death Breath and I'm quite sure it's gonna be a success judging by the material we've got already!"
SEGA has announced that two-time Grammy-nominated metal act Lamb Of God are creating an exclusive song for the upcoming Iron Man 2 video game.
The new song, "Hit the Wall", is described as the perfect complement to the super-powered action found in Iron Man 2: The Videogame.
"The music of Lamb of God definitely evokes the intensity of Iron Man action, and we are very excited to have them working with us for the game," said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America. "This new track will add even more atmosphere to the cinematic gaming experience that Iron Man 2 brings to the table."
"Working on a piece of music specifically for the Iron Man 2 video game was a new challenge for us, said vocalist Randy Blythe. "A few of us are real game and comic fans, so the partnership with SEGA has been really exciting. We can't wait to play the game and hear our music as Iron Man kicks ass."

The band posted the following words on their myspace :
"On September 28th, 2009 ARCH ENEMY will release their new studio album "The Root Of All Evil" in Europe. It contains a selection of completely re-recorded tracks from the band's first three albums "Black Earth" (1996), "Stigmata" (1998) and "Burning Bridges" (1999) reenergized and unified by the band's ultimate line-up!
Originally recorded with ever changing band members (i.e. former vocalist Johan Liiva, drummer Peter Wildoer, bass player Martin Bengtsson), "The Root Of All Evil" presents classic tracks as "Beast Of Man", "The Immortal", "Transmigration Macabre" or "Bridge Of Destiny" with the insane vocals of Angela Gossow, several completely new bass lines by Sharlee D'Angelo, the ever-present guitar wizardry of the Amott brothers as well as Daniel Erlandsson's merciless punch. The entire project was approached with the idea of having the possibility to re-add these songs to the bands live set and follow up the release with some special touring activity.
Danish Folk Metal band Svartsot have posted 2 new demo songs (called "Æthelred" and "Højen På Glødende Pæle") on their MySpace with the following message:
"Seeing as many people have been wondering how the new line-up and new material sounds, we thought we'd put a couple rehearsal room demo tracks up. Those of you who have been fortunate enough to see the new line-up perform at one of the last three concerts will have heard these already. But we hope you enjoy them just the same..."
