The Black Dahlia Murder - Announce US Tour With Nile, Skeletonwitch And Hour Of Penance

US melodic death metal outfit The Black Dahlia Murder will be hitting the road this March marking the band's first headline run of 2012. Joining them will be Nile, Skeletonwitch, and Hour Of Penance. The tour kicks off on March 24th in Grand Rapids, MI, at The Intersection and wraps up on April 20th in Worcester Mass at the New England Metal & Hardcore festival. Tickets for the upcoming tour will go on sale starting this Saturday, January 21st.

Flying Colors - New Project Featuring Mike Portnoy And Steve Morse

Flying Colors, the new project featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Avenged Sevenfold, Adrenaline Mob) and guitarist Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs), have revealed details about their upcoming debut album. The self-titled record, which was produced by Peter Collins (Rush, Queensrÿche), will be available in the UK on March 26th, followed by a US release on March 27th. You can view the tracklist below. The band also features keyboardist Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Spock's Beard), bassist Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs), and vocalist Casey McPherson (Alpha Rev, Endochine).

Herman Rarebell And The Fatal Sting - Former Scorpions Drummer Reveals New Project

Former Scorpions drummer Herman Rarebell is working with musicians from California and Brazil ? including singer Gustavo Monsanto (Revolution Renaissance, Takara) ? on the follow-up to Herman's 2010 album Take It As it Comes. The new album will be issued under the moniker Herman Rarebell And The Fatal Sting.

Take It As it Comes ? a disc of material featuring songs written by friends ? was released via Dark Star Records.

Diamond Head - Former Drummer Robbie France Dead At 52

Former UFO and Diamond Head drummer Robbie France has died, aged 52, after reportedly suffering a ruptured aorta. Diamond Head has made the following statement on the band's official website: "It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Robbie France on Saturday 14th January. Robbie was the drummer for Diamond Head drummer from 1983 to 1985."

No further details have yet been revealed.

Anvil - Bassist Leaves The Band

Glenn Five is calling it quits after 16 years and six albums with Canadian heavy metallers Anvil, including the band's latest album Juggernaut Of Justice.

Glenn Five justified his departure in a press release: "Playing in Anvil has given me some of the best years of my life. However, after nearly 16 years with the band, the time has come to move on and try new musical endeavors. Although Anvil has been a great band to play in, I have been limited creatively. I have a wide taste in music and I feel that it's time to broaden my horizons."

Borknagar - New Album Details Revealed

Norwegian melodic black metallers Borknagar have finalized mixing duties for their upcoming studio album with Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, etc.) in Sweden and have now checked in to announce that their new effort will be titled Urd and is to be released on March 26th, 2012 in Europe as well as March 27th, 2012 in North America via Century Media Records.
