18:10 - Apothecary I'm just saying, it kinda goes along with the whole stoner doom thing (ALERT CORRECT ME NOW!), not to mention the line between stoner rock and stoner metal is about as sketchy as hard rock/heavy metal anyway.
18:10 - Fritillaria if we could find out who added King Crimson ,then we could ask him/her about it.
18:02 - Marcel Hubregtse that still has me puzzled as well hahaha
17:52 - Fritillaria But how King Crimson is added to bands here? I mean how it's counted as a metal msuic ?
17:43 - Marcel Hubregtse and those psychedelia bands have no ties with metal whereas loads of the so called classic rock bands do.
17:42 - Marcel Hubregtse Electric Moon, Samsara are even farther away from metal than Lizzy.
17:34 - Apothecary Where are all the psychedelic bands on here? Stoned Jesus, Electric Moon, Samsara Blues Experiment? If we can have classic rock like King Crimson and Thin Lizzy, why not some modern psychedelia?
Megadeth's upcoming album scheduled for a release this Halloween, has been named 'United Abominations'.
"My decision was a combination of a few things," Mustaine said as he prepared to enter the studio to record vocals for the band's upcoming album, United Abominations, which is scheduled for a Halloween release. "I was finally associating with guys that really love to play — — and that make me feel really good to play. They respect me and are fans of the music that we play and of the music in our genre. Also, ticket sales were up and record sales were up — it was happening again."
United Abominations will mark the Megadeth recording debut of the Drover brothers. The album will contain 11 songs, including the title track, "Washington's Next" and "Gears of War"; an additional track will be included with the Japanese release. "It's a really diverse record," Shawn said. "There's some faster stuff that should appeal to the band's thrash fans and it's got a little more mainstream stuff as well. It's definitely not one-dimensional."
The release date of the forthcoming Draconian album, The Burning Halo, is set to the 29th of September (10th of October in USA).
Tracklist - "The Burning Halo" (playing time 54:09)
1. She Dies
2. Through Infectious Waters (A Sickness Elegy)
3. The Dying
4. Serenade of Sorrow
5. The Morningstar
6. The Gothic Embrace
7. On Sunday They Will Kill the World
8. Forever My Queen
As previously reported, Finntroll is scheduled to enter the studio in late September to begin recording the follow-up to 2004's "Nattfödd", tentatively due in early 2007. The upcoming CD will mark the band's first release with new singer Vreth, who replaced previous frontman Tapio Wilska this past spring.
Former Burzum leader and convicted murderer and arsonist Varg Vikernes, who has served 12 years out of a 21-year jail sentence, will not be released from prison just yet. The Norwegian prison authorities have denied Vikernes' parole application, according to the newspaper Dagbladet. Varg's attorney John Christian Elden says Vikernes' release is long overdue. "He is disappointed by the decision because he feels he is ready to come back into the general community," says Elden.
Vikernes was convicted for the murder of MAYHEM frontman Øystein Aarseth and three counts of church burnings. He has served 12 years out of the 21-year jail sentence, and in accordance with the previous legislation, he is due for parole. But during the years Vikernes spent behind bars, the government passed laws to increase the number of years required in time served before one can be considered for parole to 14 years for 21-year sentences, which is the most severe time-based punishment in Norway. Elden says it is unreasonable that these new regulations are retroactive. "We are baffled the Department of Justice chooses to use laws that came into effect nine years after he stared serving his sentence," says Elden.

"Just spoke to MJR & got caught up on things. He reports that they will start recording in the beginning of July; they're currently finishing up one song and putting final touches on a couple of others. Mike said that since writing has taken this long, they've chosen to fine tune the songs before entering the studio; they've put a lot of time into pre-production on this one."

"Greetings!!!
I just wanted to make a quick but significant announcement. After auditioning some very good guitar players I've made a decision. The man who will be handling the majority of the guitar solos on the next record as well as touring with us on "The Wicked World Tour" is an awesome player named Ernie Carletti. As has been the case in the past we may have a few guests do a solo or two on the epic that this way comes, but the majority will be handled by Ernie. He is a world class player and truly one of the best guitarists I've had the pleasure of meeting and hanging with. We're going to make a good team, I'm sure. We were introduced through Bernie at Bernie Rico, Jr. Guitars who is the son of the BC Rich founder/legend Bernie Rico. If you want to see some amazing top quality hand built guitars go to www.ricojrguitars.com and see what this master builder has been up to the last few years.

The follow-up to 2003's "The Puppet Master" will contain 13 tracks (including an intro), five of which were written by the band's guitarist Andy La Rocque.
