Tarja Turunen has issued the following update:

"I have good news my friends. What Lies Beneath is finally recorded!!!!!

Only waiting for some guests that will record few parts and send them over.

It was a great last vocal session. I am grateful that everything I planned was accomplished. Also the things that we decided on the way have only improved the songs making the overall picture clearer in the end.

It's going to be a very nice and powerful album!"

I hope this has instrumental parts that are somewhat good.

Hope it's better than her first

Hope it's just as good as her first...

The music of her soloalbum (My Winter Storm) was not good, to much of studio musician sound. She should´nt have any problem finding a real band playing well.
Bloodfrozen - 15.04.2010 at 00:57
I'd do her

The first album was ok I guess... mediocre I'd say. So Im not expecting anything that special out of this one too.

If this like to other albums ,this album not good.

I thoroughly enjoyed My Winter Storm... It was different enough from other artists in the genre, and wasn't a move towards a more trendy sound like we all feared it would be. It also worked damned well live, so I for one am looking forward to the next album!
The Night Wisher - 15.04.2010 at 16:00
Well, still she's a vocalist, I guess she should form a real band with good composers,
Abattoir - 15.04.2010 at 17:49
My Winter Storm was quite a solid release with some catchy enjoyable songs, so I'm also curious a bit what will now come out...

She can sing but if the first album is anything to go by you can see that the talent in Nightwish was Tuomas's.

She looks nothing like David Coulthard.

I hope this album will live up to my, and most of the fans' expectations. The first was OK but i could have been better. I'm really looking forward to it!
SatyriconChick - 16.04.2010 at 17:42
I can't wait for the new album. I loved My Winter Storm, so I don't expect to love What Lies Beneath any less...

I'm worried now because I have always fancied Tarja, oh-er!
Almagest - 17.04.2010 at 23:18
Nightwish is just cheesy power metal with lots of keyboards and sub-par guitar playing that was fun a long time ago (before Hietala - just a weaker version of Russell Allen to be honest - came in, that is) but has become more and more pretentious and at the same time blander and blander. Tarja's music is actually unconventional and resembles real gothic music more than Nightwish's ever has. I don't agree that Holopainen is that talented at all (or if he is, he doesn't show it anymore, he's sold his soul to The Man - he should have fired himself for caring more about money and parties than music), he's overrated as fuck. He and his mediocre current band and music are fanboyed FAR too much, other bands do pretty much the same style much better and partly have done so for years, and long before Nightwish. It's Tarja who actually thinks out of the box - also out of the metal box.
