Check out the brand new video for the track "Alas, Lord Is Upon Me" off Behemoth's latest release Evangelion below!

The video for "Alas, Lord Is Upon Me" was produced and directed by Rafal Szermanowicz and Grupa 13 who also shot Behemoth's videos for "Ov Fire and the Void" and "At the left hand ov God".

Nergal comments on "Alas, Lord Is Upon Me": "First of all, we've overcome ourselves with this new video clip. Period. It's something we've wanted to do for a very long time. Pretty much no digital intervention, no blue boxes, no fake shit this time, but great filming, good acting, and a fuckin' awesome storyline. It's disturbing, crazy, and evil. We've had over 70 people working for us on this video so we can easily say it was the biggest production so far. I'm beyond excited! Wait and see..."

Dariusz Szermanowicz of Grupa #13 adds; "This time we decided to make something different. We'd like to make video in 'cinematic' style without so many VFX like in last two videos. We found great location, we had dozen of actors and extras and awesome stylizing. During the 16 hours of hard work we've created amazingly killer video!"

In other news, Metal Blade Records in US and Peaceville Records in Europe will be re-releasing Behemoth's EP's Conjuration and Slaves Shall Serve as a 2CD set in early 2011. More info on this release will be made available in the coming weeks.

Really high production value, but kind of overdone and confused. Also, what the heck is Jason Voorhees doing in there?
Nergal - 12.08.2010 at 13:13
EPIC!!! Full of symbolism and hidden meanings... The final part is pure madness!
Stigmatized - 12.08.2010 at 13:13
The video is indeed really overdone. They went for a dark tone and it comes across really cheesy. Really boring song too.
King Bonzo - 12.08.2010 at 13:16
That was confusing. Behemoth's take on Christian Mythology is getting really left field now. I can't figure out what anything symbolises anymore.

The sound is cool
Isenhart - 12.08.2010 at 15:50
I think is better the previous video clip... It's a little bit amateur. wrong light in the exterior. the best part is in the building.
Koen Smits - 12.08.2010 at 16:54
I'm not much of a videoman, but this one I like a lot.

Elaborate video for one of the album's more stripped down songs. always liked the song though, and the vid has tittays.

I had no idea what the fuck I just watched.

"a fuckin' awesome storyline" - okay, I have no idea what it was about either, but I appreciate the effort. At least it was none of that band plays in old factory building or in front of bluescreen stuff. And it didn't contain any strip poker, cheerleaders, motocross, explosions, fake video games, overdone motor sounds, car washing bikini girls and a failed attempt at a moshpit.
Dark Blood - 12.08.2010 at 20:20
The video it self is pretty nice, and it's clear that they put much effort into it. But as a video clip is somewhat theatrical.

I'm Catholic, and I still love their videos! All of them are inventive, original, and controversial!
His Eminence - 12.08.2010 at 23:25
I'm wondering what the hell went on in that video.
X5452 - 12.08.2010 at 23:38
Personally I don't like this video, it's to confusing, to dark, to "set up"
Malphas - 13.08.2010 at 01:24
Well...it's ok..according to the preview of the video that came out a few days ago i thought it would be much better..but it's ok...
fotius - 13.08.2010 at 14:23
I love there work with the video clips!
They must make a real unholy full length movie!

yeah that caught me pleasantly off guard.

Well, that's nearly six minutes of my life I will never get back.

The "preview" clip contained all the images they should have stuck with for more subtly crafted atmospheric horror, without descending into a parody of themselves by throwing in heaps and heaps of confused, empty symbolism that clogs the arteries and cancels itself out with redundancy.

The song itself was just average, and I was bored halfway through the clip after realizing that the creepily awesome scene in the garden was just a teasing set-up and not the main setting of the vid. Which is a shame.
RavenKing - 15.08.2010 at 07:14
I think there's no meaning to find in this video.
Boring video for a boring song.

All of the Symoblism into it is just essential Behemoth. In fact, when it comes to that, all you really need to do is to just look at the inner sleeve notes and influences from religions and other beliefs over the lyrics and visualise them altogether.

The atmosphere of those buildings, the buried bishops bleeding and the flopping tits with Nergal walking past is what made this video for me, it's one of their best on an artistic, sort of mesmerising way full of just... Symbolism, pure unique Nergal and Behemoth work

Now I REALLY want that DVD although still... Lucifer would have been the perfect visonary peice for this. I hope they still consider in making a video for that song. Something like a 10 minute story epic with eveything before thrown into it that just make it pure Behemoth along with 'new' stuff, like 'extra' epic symbolism.
