Boy oh boy, "In Waves", a brand-new track from Florida metallers Trivium has leaked on the interwebs and can be streamed in the YouTube clip below for the time being.

"In Waves" comes off the band's upcoming new as-yet-untitled album, tentatively due on August 9th through Roadrunner Records.

The album was recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with the production/mixing team of Colin Richardson (Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot) and Martin "Ginge" Ford, along with engineer Carl Bown.

The clean vocals definitely ruined what could have been a very good song. Way too boybandish sounding....
Permafrost - 22.05.2011 at 13:45
Good song. I like it.

Woo! Best news I've heard all week ;p Ya! Trivium! So br00tal!
X5452 - 22.05.2011 at 15:41
Not that interesting... But listenable
Kubina91 - 22.05.2011 at 17:15
OMG Shogun is great album and this new single is EMO
Legendary - 22.05.2011 at 19:22
Great song, sounds like the ascendency album which is my favourite. \m/
Nergal Is God - 22.05.2011 at 20:09
Isn't their best by any means, but then again, they never release their best stuff as the first single. Can't wait to hear the rest!
Swamphell - 22.05.2011 at 20:14
Alot of clean vocals in the right place, and the Riff is not that good. nice solos btw
Tsukaikatte - 22.05.2011 at 21:22
Im stoked to hear the rest !!
RobHalford - 22.05.2011 at 22:34
Yep, just as terrible, if not moreso than expected.
Pyramid God - 22.05.2011 at 23:07
Pretty solid, not great, but I'd give the whole album a few spins.
Vitriolic Hate - 23.05.2011 at 00:26
It's ok I guess but surely shows that the new album won't surpass Shogun.
IchZerstörteSie - 23.05.2011 at 10:01
Ember to Inferno was my favorite album and this song isn't that bad to be honest. the people who are complaining blah blah you don't like it fine don't buy the album easy as that.
Dangerboner - 23.05.2011 at 12:21
So what band are they going to copy this time?
musclassia - 23.05.2011 at 13:37
The clean vocal parts are okay but not as good as the best parts of Ascendancy/Shogun, but the 'In Waves' intro part is just the least interesting thing I've heard - didn't expect such generic -core riffing from Trivium.
hailthecrisis - 23.05.2011 at 16:01
Very disappointing.
Sword_Chant - 23.05.2011 at 17:42
I thought it was quite a surprising track - didn't expect it to sound quite like this which was a good thing. I look forward to hearing the rest.
jazar94 - 23.05.2011 at 18:25
I've actually never listened to Trivium.. And I will not be making that change today. Goodbye, cock suckers!!! My apologies for the rudeness.
bluegreengod - 23.05.2011 at 18:41
Not bad, but I don't think this is something I could really get into. I like Ascendency but for some reason just can't get too excited about what they've done since.
evilwayz - 23.05.2011 at 19:48
I'm not so impressed about this..the beginning of the song was good, but then when the clean vocals came in it started to sound like some boy band..
MetallicA_3 - 23.05.2011 at 20:49
It's ok but not that good
Void Eater - 24.05.2011 at 02:20
Started with a breakdown... Not good. And then went to emo vocals... Not good. And then another breakdown... Take me away Satan... Shame, the Crusade is decent and Shogun was quite good.
Saviour73 - 24.05.2011 at 02:47
Yay Love this song! Can't wait for another awesome Trivium album!!

THIS! Hahaha!

I can't believe I actually paused Children of the Grave to listen to this song. What a waste of time!
BaneConall - 24.05.2011 at 17:16
Pretty much what I expected when they were talking about where they wanted to go with this album.
Metal_4Ever - 27.05.2011 at 04:39
My best metalcore band
Panterica - 28.05.2011 at 13:57
The song is quite enjoyable, but it feels too predictable and the backing vocals are cutting off the song's balls. My enthusiasm is getting weaker and weaker...
Cynic Metalhead - 28.05.2011 at 17:20
Its kickass like a fuck!!!

Pretty excited about the New Album...!

This is the elevator music of metal
Novas - 08.06.2011 at 21:13
A little different but still a good song like Shattering the Skies Above. Im always looking forward to my favorite metalcore band
K†ulu - 11.06.2011 at 16:33
Don't like it. Too poppy, too bland, too predictable, too unoriginal.
