Devildriver - Working On Metallica Cover Song
US groove metallers DevilDriver are working on a cover of Metallica's "Holier Than Thou" for a special tribute to Metallica's self-titled classic album.
Last week the band updated their Facebook wall as follows: "DevilDriver is recording Metallica's "Holier Than Thou" for a 20th anniversary Black Album tribute! Drums were done yesterday (Tuesday, June 7th) and guitars start today (Wednesday, June 8th)!"

Bonus trivia: In late 2009, Metallica's self-titled 1991 album (known as the Black Album) surpassed Shania Twain's 1997 CD, Come On Over, to become the best-selling album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales for Billboard on March 1, 1991. To date, Metallica has sold more than 15,500,000 copies of the album.

"Holier Than Thou" is definitely one of the most underrated Metallica songs, not just on the black album, but overall. It'll be interesting to hear Devildriver's take on it, but it probably wont be as good as the original...

That´s one ov their worst album...... it was the beginin´ ov the end for Metallica. Devildriver could do a cover for any ov the Kill em All instead. Can´t wait to see them this August 8th
