Adrenaline Mob - Touring With Godsmack, Debut Album Due Next Year

Adrenaline Mob - one of the many side-projects of drummer Mike Portnoy (ex-Avenged Sevenfold, Transatlantic) together with Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen - will be touring with the alternative metal band Godsmack in August in support of their post-Mayhem tour.

Explained by Portnoy on his forum: "I'd like to personally thank Sully and everyone in the Godsmack camp for offering The Mob these dates without our album even being out yet! It shows a tremendous amount of BALLS as well as faith in the music and live energy of Adrenaline Mob to do that and they will forever be held as seriously cool MF's in my book for that! Good karma pays itself back elevenfold!"

Portnoy also stated that an 4-song EP will be released in August, as well as a full -length album in early 2012, and that the band will be playing small exclusive shows to preview the songs.

Earlier today it was announced that Portnoy will form a brand new power trio with former Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake guitarist John Sykes and an as-yet-undisclosed bass player. Next to a Beatles tribute band, Portnoy is also currently drumming in a band with Steve Morse (Deep Purple, ex-Kansas), Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Spock's Beard), Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs) and Casey McPherson (Alpha Rev, Endochine). Anyone keeping score?

Anyway, if you are interested in seeing Adrenaline Mob live, here are the dates:

August 16 - Myrtle Beach, SC - House Of Blues
August 20 - Watertown, NY - Watertown Grandstands
August 21 - Hamilton, ON - Copps Colisseum
August 23 - Dubuque, IA - Five Flags Arena
August 24 - Bloomington, IL - US Cellular Colisseum
August 26 - Casper, WY - Casper Events Center

Underpaid M.D.
