The Ocean - To Support Devin Townsend On Upcoming Tour, New Video Online

German sludge metallers The Ocean, who previously reported that their North American tour plans were scrapped, have announced that they will be supporting fellow progressive act The Devin Townsend Project. The tour heads out on October 8th and promises to be one of the best progressive tours of the Fall. Those who have been wanting for longer sets from both acts, who often serve to support other bands on tour, will be treated to a once-on-a-lifetime evening of progressive metal grandeur.

The Ocean joins the trek on October 12th in Baltimore, MD in USA.

Guitarist and founding member Robin Staps was reached for comment: "Obviously this totally fucking rules. I've been a big fan of Hevy Devy's varicolored rumblings for many years, and we're glad that this situation that we were facing after our initially planned US tour was blown off has turned from dire into bodacious now!"

In other news, fans who have yet to see The Ocean live can catch a preview online now. The band has released a live video from their outstanding performance at this year's Summer Breeze festival in Germany. Watch the band perform the final song of their set, "The Origin Of God", from the album Heliocentric.

Wasn't keen on Tesseract, Periphery, Septicflesh or Obscura... hopefully these guys can break the streak. Precambrian is a brilliant album!

Hmm, there is a gig at Colorado Springs, Colorado. I could be interested in that one, maybe. I'm not quite sure, though. If I had the option, I would indeed see these people live.
