||Indie label Razor & Tie is proud to announce the acquisition of Massachusetts-based heavy metal band Shadows Fall to their ranks.
The band is already in the brainstorming stages for their seventh studio album due out in the Spring of 2012 and have recruited Killswitch Engage/Times Of Grace guitarist, Adam Dutkiewicz, to produce it. Even though Adam D. is a long-time friend of the band, he's no stranger to album production having worked with As I Lay Dying, All That Remains and The Devil Wears Prada on past releases.
Drummer Jason Bittner talked about working with Adam Dutkiewicz: "We haven't had this type of fire underneath us to make a record in a long time. I feel that with our new partnerships in place, as well as bringing Adam D. on board to produce, together, we've brought a renewed life to the band which will result in the best Shadows Fall record to date."
Shadows Fall are doing very special livestream events to get a behind the scenes look at the writing process for their new record. The first one happened yesterday and you can still watch it on the aforementioned location. They plan to have fans along every step of the way giving them a 'fly-on-the-wall' perspective of the creative process from start to finish. Additional livestreams are already scheduled for October 19th and November 9th at 5PM ET so mark your calendars, metalheads!
As for what kind of sound fans can expect on the new release, prepare to be surprised. According to frontman Brian Fair, "Shadows Fall has always been a band that tried our hardest to not be confined by the restraints of a single sub-genre of metal. We cover a ton of ground on this new album- encompassing everything we have done musically over our career and incorporating new ideas into the mix."
Citing a vast array of influences he's sure that the new album will reflect just that, "Our influences are an eclectic mix that cover the full spectrum of heavy music and it's always been our goal to combine those ideas into our own unique sound that is constantly evolving."
