This doesn't sound like blackened doom... more like gothic/doom

Okay, then. What did you think of the song, however?

I thought the song was nicely done, with the mood that it sets and the way it is put together. It had an emotional feel to it, as put forth by the phrase "Kiss My Ashes (Goodbye)"; the song seems like it is addressing finality and mortality in a serious manner.

I think he thought it sounded like gothic doom and not blackened doom. :/

I suppose the genre is something that's just stuck with the band for a long time... Back when they came out they sounded a lot more like black metal. Black metal or not, Woods Of Ypres sounds good to me.

His voice reminds me of something. Can't put my finger on it. I'm pretty sure it is some obscure gothic stuff I used to listen to a while ago.

Wow, I just don't like this at all, which, considering how much I liked them live earlier this year, is quite disappointing. The other song I've heard is only slightly better...

Heard the entire album and it's more of this horrible second (or thrid) rate late Sentenced and third rate Draconian Times and One Second era Paradise Lost. Plus once again the album is way too long. ^0 minutes of this drivel is mind numbingly boring. Cut it down to 45 minutes and it would be much more enjoyable.
