Soulfly - New Album Details

US nu thrashers Soulfly will release their eighth studio album, Enslaved, on March 13, 2012, via Roadrunner Records.

This release will also mark their 15th anniversary as a band.

Enslaved was recorded at Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona and was produced by Zeuss, in collaboration with Max Cavalera. Soulfly introduces some new and unexpected elements into the mix, including a guest violinist. The band also collaborates with two metal veterans: Dez Fafara (DevilDriver) and Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation).

Cavalera wrote a song, "Revengeance", about his slain stepson Dana, whose death was the catalyst for the creation of Soulfly. For the song, he partners with his sons Igor and Richie on vocals, while his other son Zyon plays drums. It is the first time he has performed with three of his sons.

Enslaved tracklist:

01. Resistance
02. World Scum
03. Intervention
04. Gladiator
05. Legions
06. American Steel
07. Redemption Of Man By God
08. Treachery
09. Plata O Plomo
10. Revengeance
11. Chains
12. Slave
13. Bastards
14. Soulfly VIII

Will probably still be better than Cavalera Conspiracy.

Will probably still be better than Omen IMO. As it is very "revengeful" album, I think it gonna be far better than what they come up with their last output. Tracklisting sounds promising but lets see...

Soulfly have only made a couple of albums that weren't woefully average affairs, so I'm not overly hopeful for this one. But anything new he does commands at least a listen, as he has been responisble for some great stuff in the past, so who knows? In any case, it can't be any worse than "Kairos".

Is anyone else here a tad bored with him going on about Dana still?? Really, he should move one for his own sake.

This album is all over the internet, I'm lucky enough to have a ppr of it and it's definitely the best Soulfly album I've heard. A lot heavier than previous albums and they sound like they have a renewed fire. it's an ' in ur face ' production, with some great riff's and no world music!
