Wacken Open Air 2012 - New Bands Confirmed


In their annual Christmas calendar, Wacken Open Air has announced a number of new bands to play at the 23rd edition of the festival in 2012.

The new announcements include:

Amaranthe, The Black Dahlia Murder, Crimes Of Passion, D-A-D, Darkest Hour, Decapitated, Delain, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Dødheimsgard, Eisenherz, Electric Wizard, Eschenbach, Gehenna, Ghost Brigade, Graveyard, Insomnium, Kamelot, Kylesa, Leningrad Cowboys, Manticora, Nasum, Oomph!, Red Fang, SAOR Patrol, Sacred Reich, Sanctuary, Saxon, Schandmaul, Sylosis, Testament, Unearth, Vogelfrey, Warbringer, Warrior Soul, and Wölli & Die Band des Jahres.

Overall, 67 bands have been confirmed to play at Wacken 2012 so far, including Coroner, Opeth, Machine Head and Scorpions.

The festival is sold out through their official distributor. Leftover tickets can be acquired via Bock Tours and Metal Train, both in combination with booking the respective transport only.

lol We have amazing festivals in our country now, the last few years have been so much better. So, I wouldn't complain about that. Wacken is Wacken, it's a different kind of thing.

A lot of big bands but not that much of my taste, just bad luck I guess, Im still not unsatisfied with the line up.
The only problem I have is that I can really only distinguish 1 headliner and that is Scorpions, do you guys know anything more about that?

Machine Head, Saxon and In Flames are the other "traditional" headliners that are booked quite frequently by the guys at WOA. The first two were part of the main highlights of WOA 2009 (MH played for 80 minutes and Saxon for more than 2 hours, In Flames for 75 minutes). I still also feel like there's another big band missing from the line-up, but there's still more than enough time :p
